Leading with Passion: Ziv Achrak’s Journey in GPU Engineering

Could you tell us a bit about yourself and how your Arm journey began?

My name is Ziv Achrak, and I am a GPU Engineering Manager at Arm, based in Ra’anana, Israel. I lead a great team who help develop the compute capability of Arm’s GPU products, which I find very interesting!

I first heard about Arm through its products. At the time, back in 2016, I was working for a small company and the buzz around Arm’s GPU started to get around, and so I knew I wanted to make the move to Arm. As I started out, I worked in a variety of roles, from System IP to Security before landing in GPU and the work was amazing and moving across teams helped me learn more about Arm and their company benefits. It seemed like a challenge when I first started out, but it’s been great to accomplish that work now.

What do you value the most working at Arm?

Their people. I joined and felt this instant connection with my team, and I like that. I feel the best work comes from the best teams and it has been nice to work with people you can also consider friends.

Arm also gives me the opportunity to expand my knowledge with its personal development programs and I’ve found it’s key to my job. Everything is completely in my control and it’s a great way to manage your career. Arm is so diverse, which is a great thing, and the opportunities they provide are incredible – everyone can find something to get involved with.

This kind of culture and community at Arm is unique within the industry. There is such a dedication to employee welfare, and it shows. There is support to help with balancing my work and home life and a lot of mental health support, which is something that isn’t found in companies very often.

Arm challenges people, and it’s that challenge that keeps me here. Their hybrid working policy gives me more freedom to balance my work and home life, which is great and the people I get to work with are amazing. We are cared about, pushed to our limits and supported all the way, and that’s what makes Arm such a great place to work!
