Job Overview:
The STO Manager handles technical and operational maintenance for firewall, VPN technologies, and DNS defense services within the Security, Technology Operations (STO) function.
The role is responsible for managing network security changes and driving improvements, while contributing to the resolution of network security incidents, ensuring timely, accurate, and Secure outcomes across Arm’s enterprise-scale network infrastructure. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy, contributing to the stability, optimization, and continuous improvement of network security services, and supporting the delivery of reliable, scalable, and resilient security outcomes aligned to business needs.
Responsibilities:
Network Change Management
- Lead the intake, analysis, and execution of firewall / VPN / DNS security change requests via ServiceNow.
- Validate rule requests against security policies, standards, and design principles.
- Implement and document firewall rules across enterprise and data center environments.
- Coordinate with requestors, network engineers, and project teams to ensure minimal disruption.
- Track and manage assigned change requests, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with agreed priorities.
Operational Support
- Support the day-to-day management of firewall infrastructure and associated tooling (e.g., Cisco ( ASA/FTD, or equivalent).
- Conduct troubleshooting and validation testing post-change.
- Identify misconfigurations and make changes to configure for the best security and business enablement.
- Create knowledge base articles, process maps, and user documentation.
- Find opportunities for automation of repeatable tasks
Engineering & Optimization
- Challenge and validate necessity of rules (not just approve).
- Consider security and performance impact at scale.
Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Identify and raise risks or concerns related to network security configurations, ensuring appropriate escalation where required.
- Expected to build or implement automation or process efficiencies.
- Support compliance with internal standards, audits, and operational procedures.
- Participate in daily huddles, contribute on architecture discussions and provide peer review on changes.
- Rule lifecycle management (not just creation) including firewall policy optimization.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience managing enterprise firewall technologies (e.g. Palo Alto, Cisco, or equivalent).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, NAT, subnets).
- Experience using ServiceNow or similar platforms for change and request management.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Request, Change).
- Exposure to network security operations within an enterprise environment.
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g. Python, APIs) Core Functional Capabilities
- Experience managing network security
- Good understanding of technical security controls (firewalls, VPN, DNS).
- Technologies, including risks, issues, and changes to ensure secure and reliable operations.
- Ability to implement low-level changes while supporting more complex tasks.
- Finds opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce technical debt.
- Applies practical experience alongside formal knowledge to solve operational challenges.
- Demonstrates strong independent decision-making and sound technical judgement in time-sensitive or low-support scenarios.

Salary Range:
