About the Team
The Chip Methodology & Automation (CMA) team within Arm’s Solutions Engineering organization develops scalable methodologies, flows, and automation that enable efficient deployment of Arm-based SoCs across internal teams, customers, and ecosystem partners.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior / Lead DFT Solutions Engineer to define, develop, and deploy DFT methodologies and flow solutions for Arm-based SoCs. You will drive alignment across engineering teams, integrate DFT into broader implementation flows, and lead the adoption of scalable, reusable, and automated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain DFT methodologies, flows, automation, and reference solutions for Arm-based SoCs.
- Drive alignment and integration of DFT flows within end-to-end RTL-to-GDS and silicon enablement methodologies.
- Collaborate with architecture, implementation, CAD, product engineering, customers, and ecosystem partners to ensure successful deployment.
- Evaluate and enable new capabilities with EDA vendors and technology partners.
- Lead technical reviews, resolve complex integration challenges, and drive methodology improvements.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the DFT and automation roadmap within CMA.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong industry experience in DFT implementation, methodology development, and flow integration for complex SoCs.
- Deep understanding of scan, compression, ATPG, MBIST/LBIST, JTAG/IEEE 1149.x, IEEE 1687, and hierarchical DFT methodologies.
- Experience integrating DFT into implementation, verification, and signoff flows.
- Hands-on expertise with industry-standard DFT EDA tools.
- Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, Tcl, Shell, or similar).
- Excellent debugging, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to influence technical direction across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced-node SoC development.
- Familiarity with chiplet or multi-die architectures.
- Experience developing CAD, methodology, or automation infrastructure.
- Knowledge of automotive, safety, or production test requirements.
Education
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
This version is closer to the style Arm typically uses internally: concise, outcome-focused, and avoiding detailed technical lists in both responsibilities and skills. The responsibilities describe what the person owns, while the skills describe what they need to know.

Hybrid Working at Arm
Arm’s approach to hybrid working is designed to create a working environment that supports both high performance and personal wellbeing. We believe in bringing people together face to face to enable us to work at pace, whilst recognizing the value of flexibility. Within that framework, we empower groups/teams to determine their own hybrid working patterns, depending on the work and the team’s needs. Details of what this means for each role will be shared upon application. In some cases, the flexibility we can offer is limited by local legal, regulatory, tax, or other considerations, and where this is the case, we will collaborate with you to find the best solution.
