Job Overview:
We are hiring a hands-on experienced engineer to lead debug and failure analysis of compute server platforms. Hands-on debugging of server failures across hardware, firmware (BIOS/BMC), and Linux OS is the primary responsibility. You will own issues end-to-end—from symptom → root cause → corrective action—working across hardware, firmware, and software teams.
Responsibilities:
- Debug system issues: no-POST, reboots, hangs, performance instability
- Analyze across layers: Hardware (power, thermals, PCIe, memory) and Firmware (BIOS/UEFI, BMC/OpenBMC)
- OS (Linux logs, RAS, drivers)
- Reproduce field issues using stress tools (fio, stress-ng) and lab experiments
- Own customer escalations and RMA investigations
- Drive root cause and corrective actions with cross-functional teams
- Identify recurring issues and improve system reliability
Required Skills and Experience :
- 15+ years in server platforms, system debug, or failure analysis
- Strong understanding of CPU/SoC, DDR, PCIe, NVMe, power/thermal
- Hands-on experience with: System-level debug (HW + FW + OS), BIOS/UEFI and POST debugging, BMC / OpenBMC (SEL, sensors, IPMI/Redfish), Linux debugging (dmesg, journalctl)
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Arm-based server experience (Neoverse)
- OpenBMC familiarity
- Customer-facing debug / escalation experience
- Python or scripting for log analysis
