Job Description:
As a Senior Network Service Engineer, you will have a substantial technical role in delivering, operating and evolving Arm's core network services across both on-premises and cloud environments. Your primary responsibilities will involve working within a team to maintain essential services such as DNS, DHCP, IPAM, NTP and Load Balancers, ensuring these platforms remain reliable, scalable and prepared for future growth.
In addition to collaborating with your immediate team, you will be expected to work closely with the broader IT team, architects and engineering teams that depend on these services. Your time will be divided between BAU tasks and projects aimed at designing and implementing improvements, driving automation and supporting complex engineering requirements at pace. This role demands strong technical ownership, The ability to remain composed under pressure and take a proactive approach, problem-solving attitude when handling business-critical services.
Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on engineering ownership of core network services including DNS, DHCP, NTP, IPAM and load-balancing platforms across hybrid environments.
- Design, implement and maintain highly available and resilient network services supporting both on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
- Act as a technical lead and team expert point for sophisticated incidents, solving and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with IT, infrastructure, cloud and operations teams to deliver service improvements and support initiatives with a strong focus on end-user experience.
- Drive the development and adoption of automation and Infrastructure as code to improve reliability, consistency and operational efficiency.
- Ensure proactive monitoring, alerting and proactive planning is in place for all supported services.
- Take ownership of technical work across multiple projects, maintaining focus, quality and delivery timelines.
- Contribute to service documentation, standards and operational procedures.
- Drive the definition and reporting of operational performance metrics for network services, delivering technical insights to improve availability and service quality..
- Encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the network services team
Required Skills and Experience :
Highly motivated, dedicated engineer with a strong sense of technical ownership and accountability.
- Confirmed experience with at least 3+ years working in a senior or sophisticated engineering role supporting business-critical network services.
- Excellent understanding of internal and external DNS in highly resilient hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including Microsoft-based services, Bluecat and InfoBlox.
- Strong solid understanding of load-balancing solutions which includes experience using HAProxy and Jetnexus
- Strong solid understanding of DHCP which includes vendors Bluecat, infoblox and Windows based services.
- Experience operating a broad range of network services in a customer-focused, production environment.
- Experience with network automation frameworks for example, Python, Ansible and Terraform
- knowledge in hybrid infrastructure, including on-premises platforms and cloud services, with an emphasis on automation.
- Experience applying ITIL guidelines in day-to-day operations, with exposure to Agile ways of working
- Administer and support DHCP services for IPv4 and IPv6, ensuring accurate scope design and availability.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
Experience working with software-defined networking or network services in software-defined environments.
Exposure to Cisco ISE and Cisco Secure Network Analytics.
Exposure in routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF and VXLAN.
Experience mentoring junior engineers or acting as a technical lead within a team.
