Job Overview:
As a Senior Platform Validation Engineer you will work with the Arm Central Engineering partners and support the growing demand for Neoverse cores in the Cloud and Datacenter. You will be an individual contributor engaging and collaborating with internal and external partners to enable and support Arm Infrastructure hardware software ecosystem. Join us as we deliver solutions across Cloud, Edge, 5G, and Networking segments!
Responsibilities:
- Experience with ODM reference board prototype bring-up and debugging.
- Knowledge of testing high density PCB assemblies for computing products (eg. PC's, servers etc)
- Able to read and understand complex electronic circuit diagrams.
- Strong understanding of the components that make up a PCB assembly and their interactions.
- Able to methodically work through the board debug process with minimal input, in a structured approach.
- Familiarity with testing and debugging high speed interfaces including I2C, UART, SPI, PCIe, DDR, USB etc.
- Able to track down complex design faults that might include issues related to: timing, IO levels, rise/fall times, noise, bus contention, power supply sequencing, incorrect pin assignments, clocking, resets etc.
- Strong understanding of BIOS bring-up & validation plan on ODM design reference platform.
- Engage with ODM partners to drive board related debug & bring up activities.
- Experience of using digital meters, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, debuggers and other lab test equipment
- Experience of using soldering iron and able to rework boards.
- Maintain scalability and deployment of production firmware, validation OS and test suite for device screening process.
Required Skills and Experience :
- A degree or equivalent experience in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience as a Board Design Engineer, Hardware Test Engineer, and/or similar role.
- Familiarity with hardware design and testing.
- Solid understanding of Board level schematic & PCB layout.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A desire for learning and self-improvement
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Familiarity with industry standards such as PCIe, USB, I2C, DDR, SPI etc.
- Experience with the install and debug of Linux and/or Windows operating systems for use in Cloud and Datacenter solutions
- Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with Cloud and Datacenter infrastructure and software solutions
