We, Arm are seeking for a Senior Software Engineer to our join team in validating the automotive reference software stack for our next-generation compute subsystems, designed for the era of software-defined vehicles.
In this role, you will work closely with firmware engineers, software architects, Technical leads and system engineers across multiple domains to build and validate robust, high-performance, and secure system software. Your contributions will help demonstrate the full potential of Arm’s innovative automotive compute platforms — enabling next-generation innovation in compute, vision, AI, and safety/security subsystems.

Roles and Responsibilities
- You will analyze system-level requirements to design detailed test scenarios that validate functional behavior, performance, edge conditions, and exploratory use cases
- Collaborate with firmware and architecture teams to design system test cases that ensure robust validation and full feature coverage
- Automate developed test cases which ensuring compatibility, consistency, and stability across heterogeneous toolchain environments and build systems
- Help plan and prioritize engineering work packages in coordination with project management and tech leadership to achieve project landmarks
- Mentor and guide other engineers, promoting guidelines in firmware validation to maintain a high standard of software quality
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Required Skills and Experience
- 6+ years of proven experience in software development, verification and validation of firmware for subsystems or full systems — across pre-silicon and post-silicon stages.
- Hands-on experience in system integration, test specification development, automating test cases.
- Good understanding of firmware and operating systems such as U-Boot, RSE, TF-A, Xen, Zephyr, AAOS, AGL, and QNX.
- Proficient in programming embedded C/C++, Python, Bash/Shell scripting, and familiar with Git, Pytest, GitLab/GitHub, Virtualization software.
- Good understanding of diverse test environments such as simulation, emulation, FPGA prototyping, and hardware board farms used for system and firmware validation
- A self motivated test engineer owns verification topics, drive problem-solving, and deliver robust software quality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to document clearly, influence participants, and build alignment across multi-functional teams.
“Nice to have” Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and scripting
- Experience in end-to-end software validation across semiconductor product lifecycle
- Exposure to automotive software standards, safety and security concepts
- Firmware SW development is an added advantage!
