We are looking for an experienced PR Director to join Arm’s external communications team in China, one of our most important and dynamic markets. This role will drive impactful programs to strengthen Arm’s thought leadership in AI and support key business goals across sectors like IoT, smartphone, PC, and data center.
The ideal candidate has strong media skills, strategic storytelling ability, and a deep understanding of China’s tech and policy environment. You will manage all aspects of communications, including earned media, spokesperson visibility, product launches, and corporate initiatives, working with global, APAC, and local teams. Responsibilities include developing messaging, managing media relations, supporting executive communications, and ensuring consistent, credible presence across channels.
This leadership position demands excellent judgment, cultural fluency, and cross-team influence. You will shape Arm’s image with Chinese media and industry influencers, aligning global strategy with local relevance.
Job Description:
- Plan, implement, and own the China external communications strategy focused on Arm’s edge AI business unit (covering IoT, mobile, and PC industries) translating global/APAC priorities into market‑specific plans with clear OSKRs and measurement.
- Lead multiple concurrent programs (earned media, executive visibility, KOL amplification); manage interdependencies across different marketing disciplines, business units and regional teams.
- Define and manage a tiered portfolio of national business, technology, and semiconductor media/analysts; drive proactive story pipelines and high‑quality coverage with strong message pull‑through.
- Integrate global/regional content with China‑specific insights; commission and edit high‑stakes assets (bylines, data stories, media briefers), ensuring accuracy, localization quality, and brand alignment.
- Coordinate cross‑functional information flow for program planning and execution; frame options, quantify trade‑offs, and secure timely decisions from senior stakeholders.
- Communicate and co‑execute with partners and alliances; structure joint marketing narratives, deliverables, and shared success metrics.
- Support issues/crisis readiness and response; coach executive spokespeople and ensure compliance with corporate policies and approvals.
Requirement and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree is a plus.
- 15+ years in PR/communications/marketing with substantial program ownership and deep media relationship in technology; semiconductor or hardware OEM familiarity strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years leading complex, earned‑media‑led campaigns and senior stakeholder/agency management; able to drive measurable impact
- Demonstrated expertise in content strategy and editorial leadership, executive narrative development, and media/analyst engagement.
- Strong measurement literacy: define OSKRs, dashboards, and learning loops; translate comms results into business‑relevant insights.
- Outstanding organizational and program management skills; proven ability to operate under ambiguity and drive decisions at pace.
- A problem‑solver and team player who leads virtual squads and elevates ways‑of‑working
- Attention to detail and quality assurance in high‑stakes external deliverables
- Fluent speaking and writing in both Mandarin and English.
