Job Overview:
Oversee the financial and compliance framework of the China WFOE and ensure accurate reporting into Group accounts prepared under both US GAAP and IFRS in SAP S/4HANA. This is a hands-on role operating in a sophisticated regulatory environment, requiring strong technical expertise, practical knowledge of China-specific constraints, and the ability to bridge local statutory reporting with multinational reporting requirements.
The role reports to the Head of International Finance and acts as the key finance representative for the China entity.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting & External Accountant Oversight
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
- Support reporting under both US GAAP and IFRS frameworks
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of reporting packages to Group Finance
- Perform detailed analytical reviews of financial results
- Prepare and document P&L flux analysis with clear explanations for significant variances
- Coordinate and supervise local statutory bookkeeping
- Review local PRC GAAP financials and ensure accuracy and completeness
- Bridge local statutory reporting to Group reporting requirements
- Support annual statutory audit and tax filings
2. China Regulatory & WFOE Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with PRC financial, tax, and corporate regulations
- Be a great partner with tax bureau, SAFE, banks, and other authorities
- Proactively handle regulatory risks and respond effectively to regulatory changes
- Apply practical experience in navigating common WFOE operational constraints
3. SAFE, RSU & ESPP Administration
- Oversee RSU and ESPP related transactions under SAFE registration and quota restrictions
- Ensure compliant handling of foreign exchange controls
- Coordinate with HQ reward teams and local banks
- Support documentation and regulatory filings for stock-based compensation
4. Fixed Assets & Lease Management
- Overall responsibility for fixed asset management, including:
- Capital expenditure tracking
- Asset verification and compliance
- Oversee lease management under applicable accounting standards (accounting centralized, local oversight required)
- Ensure alignment between physical assets and accounting records
5. Tax & Regulatory Matters
- Be responsible for corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and other tax compliance
- Coordinate with tax advisors and authorities
- Ensure proper documentation for cross-border transactions
6. Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
- Supervise banking relationships and payment processes
- Ensure compliance with SAFE and foreign exchange regulations
7. Procure-to-Pay Oversight
- Oversee the procure-to-pay (P2P) process to ensure timely and compliant vendor payments
- Partner closely with Accounts Payable teams to:
- Monitor invoice approval cycles
- Resolve payment delays or disputes
- Improve process efficiency and internal controls
- Monitor vendor aging and cash flow impact
- Identify and implement process improvements within SAP S/4HANA to enhance transparency and control
Required Skills and Experience :
- Strong experience in a multinational WFOE environment
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS reporting concepts
- Deep knowledge of PRC GAAP and China tax framework
- Experience working in a dual-reporting environment preferred
- Strong practical experience dealing with SAFE and foreign exchange controls
- Preferred - experience working with SAP S4/HANA
- Optional - experience in managing a small team
- Fluent Mandarin and strong English communication skills
