FAE Director
Job description: The Field Applications Engineering (FAE) Director plays a critical leadership role within the sales organization of a global semiconductor company, enabling customers to successfully adopt the company’s products and technologies while driving business growth in the China region. This leader identifies and secures design‑win opportunities, shapes technical engagements with customers, and ensures smooth execution from concept through product launch. In close partnership with sales, engineering, and factory teams, the FAE Director builds strategic technical relationships, deeply understands customer requirements, and guides the delivery of innovative, competitive solutions that support long‑term account success.
Responsibilities
Develop, identify and pursue design-win opportunities of the company’s products and technologies. Understand customer needs and make appropriate product recommendations to meet the needs. Coordinate activities to close design wins with account manager and factory teams. Partner with sales to develop and implement account strategy and determine possible application of company products and solutions to meet customer requirements. Communicate strategies to factory management to obtain required support and coordination.
Maintain a high standard of technical knowledge in relationship to the company’s products, technologies, services, and competitors.
Develop sound professional relationships with key engineers, architects, and decision-makers in customer accounts
Oversee and manage customer projects utilising the company’s products, technologies, and services
Required Skills and Experience:
- BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- 10 or more years of experience in semiconductor industry, preferably with a full cycle of SoC development experience
- Possess a broad technical understanding of server CPUs, platform architecture and the software ecosystem required to evaluate and optimize applications that run at the node, rack and datacenter scale.
- Well versed in server software ecosystem including OS/Hypervisors, Compilers, Libraries, debug and profiling tools.
- Experience with virtualization technology and one or more hypervisor solutions is preferred.
- Hands on experience in the setup and configuration of server systems including software, networking and storage infrastructure.
- Good working knowledge of key workloads that are used to evaluate servers for hyperscale and web scale
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex problems involving multi-disciplined, cross-functional teams
- Fluent Mandarin and proficient English skills required
- Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate both the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrate good time management skills and theability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good people skill to work with customers and internal teams at different levels
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong network and experience with OEM/ODM
- Past experience in sales and commerical contract negotiation.
