We are seeking aPrincipal Field Applications Engineer (FAE)toleadstrategic technical engagements with Tier 1 hyperscale customers-from early architectural exploration through product deployment.This is a deeply technical, customer-facing role. In this high-impactposition, you will guide infrastructure design decisions, align customer requirements with Arm’s roadmap, and accelerate adoption of Arm-based platforms.
This is a silicon-focused, architecture-level role where you will influence CPU configuration, coherency fabric design, memory subsystem architecture, and large-scale system integration — from early definition through silicon bring-up and production.
You will work closely with Account, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure technical alignment and long-term customer success. This role requires deep systemexpertise,strong communicationskills, and the ability tooperateindependently in dynamic environments. Approximately 25%travelis expected, including occasional UK trips.
Key Responsibilities
- Drivearchitecture-levelengagementswithhyperscalercustomersacross thefull siliconlifecycleservingas theirtrusted technical advisorand aligning system designs with Arm’s roadmap
- Identifyopportunities to implement Arm technology in partner designs and provide both pre-sales and post-salestechnical leadership.
- Influenceadoptionof ArmCloudAIsolutions;includingArm CSS(Neoverse CPU configuration, core scaling, cache hierarchy, and coherency fabric topology, such as CMN)
- Adviseon memory subsystem design (DDR5, HBM, NUMA scaling) and bandwidth/latency trade-offs
- LeadPCIe Gen5/6 and CXL integrationengagements, including coherent memory expansion strategies
- Guide accelerator and heterogeneous compute integration within server-class SoCs
- Supportpartners usingpre-silicon performancemodelstoidentifyarchitectural bottlenecks prior to tape-out
- Collaborate withcustomerstooptimizeworkloads, includingcloud-native applications, HPC, AI/ML, and enterprise systems.
- Stay informed on trends in cloud infrastructure, systems architecture, and modern software stacks.
- Anticipatetechnicalrisks, manage escalations, and ensuretimelyissue resolution
- Communicate architectural concepts clearly to technical and executive audiences
- Drive technical alignment between customer silicon teams and Arm engineering
- Provide structured field feedback to influenceproduct direction and competitive positioningdecisions
- Drive alignmentonfirmware requirementsbyfacilitatingdiscussions between customers and internal engineering teams, and ensuring customer needs are clearly captured
- Own technical escalationsby coordinating issue triage and resolutionacrosscustomers, internal engineering teams, andecosystempartners, driving issues to closure with clear communicationand accountability.
Who You Are
- Deeplyexperiencedinfrastructure technologist withdemonstratedsuccess driving adoption of complexsilicon platforms at hyperscale customers
- Comfortable operating across abstraction layers — from high-level architecturestrategyto low-level technicaldetails
- Proven ability to guide customers through evaluation, integration, andbring-up and production deploymentof complex infrastructure technologies
- Clear, persuasive communicator who translates complexarchitecturalconcepts into actionable guidance forbothtechnical and executive audiences
- Strategic advisor capable of influencing critical technical decisionsin high-visibility, multi-company engagements
- Self-directed, adaptable, and credible indynamiccustomerenvironments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in EE, CE, CS, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in server SoC architecture, silicon integration,system engineering, orapplications engineering
- Strong understanding of server-class CPU architecture and cache/memory hierarchy behavior
- Experience with coherency protocols (e.g., CHI) and scalable interconnect fabrics
- Solid knowledge of DDR5/HBM subsystems and NUMAarchitecture
- Exposure tointegrating PCIe and familiarity with CXL in data center environments
- Exposure to pre-silicon modeling and/or post-silicon bring-up and validation
- Experience working with hyperscale or large cloud silicon programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in EE, CE, CS, or related field
- Experience with ArmCSS,Neoverse CPUs,CMN interconnectand System IP
- Experience withchipletor multi-die server architectures
- Background in AI accelerator or heterogeneous compute integration
- Track recordof influencing architecture decisions in production silicon programs
Salary Range:
