Job Overview:
This is a strategic role focusing on building and expanding the Arm’s business portfolio in Malaysia. The position plays a critical part in aligning Arm’s silicon and IP strategies with Malaysia national initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with regional leadership and engage with government agencies, industry leaders, and technology partners to drive Arm’s presence and influence in the region’s rapidly growing semiconductor sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Arm’s semiconductor business development in Malaysia, with an emphasis on driving Neoverse and Zena Computing Subsystem (CSS) and Arm Flexible Access (AFA) consumption.
- To engage with Malaysia government and domestic institutes aligning Arm’s ambition to Malaysia National Semiconductor Strategy and subsidisation programs.
- Analyse and articulate the evolving landscape of regional data center demand (cloud, hyperscale, edge compute), automotive trends (EV, ADAS, software-defined vehicles) and IoT segment.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with domestic IC partner, design house, ODM/OEMs, and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Collaborate across Arm’s internal business units (including but not limited to Line of Business, Legal, Finance, Engineering, Marketing) to localize offerings and expand Arm’s regional footprint.
- Represent Arm in government working groups, semiconductor alliances, and compute or mobility-focused industry consortia.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in business development or ecosystem development in thesemiconductor, data center, or automotive sector.
- Solid knowledge of ASEAN’s data center growth trends (e.g., Johor, Batam, Singapore’s AI compute strategy) and regional automotive ambitions (e.g., Malaysia’s EV push, Singapore’s AV testbeds).
- Proven ability to work with senior government stakeholders, academic partners, and commercial players to drive public-private partnerships.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, able to work across different cultures and organizational structures.
- Familiarity with IP licensing, SoC enablement, and Arm’s ecosystem advantages in compute-intensive applications.
- Strong analytical, project planning, and stakeholder management skills.
- Working language: English and Chinese
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Previous experience engaging withAI, automotive, or cloud infrastructure ecosystems in Southeast Asia.
- Familiarity with regional incentive frameworks, such as MIDA’s tax incentives or EDB’s strategic funding programs.
