The Arm IP Tooling team develops innovative software tools to facilitate the creation of sophisticated semiconductor Systems-on-Chip (SoC) based on Arm: CPU, GPU, ML and System IP products. Our tools enable Arm Partners to quickly select, configure and integrate the IP components that make up their chips, greatly simplifying the process of SoC assembly and reducing time-to-market.

Arm is looking for skilled and motivated software engineers with broad experience and a desire to learn. You will join our Galway based team to help develop, test and maintain software tools that meet customer expectations and the high-quality level Arm Partners expect!
As an Experienced Software Engineer, you will build upon our existing tools focussing on the key capabilities our partner’s demand. Working across the software lifecycle, developing server/client web-based applications, you will also develop and incorporate other exciting technologies for new solutions we are required to build. Our team utilises many different technologies such as Python, Rust, C/C++ & Perl.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Ownership of delivering product features from development and test through to final release and maintenance
- Communicating with Product Owners, Application & Support staff and IP teams to fully understand requirements, validation scope etc.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience developing, testing, delivering or maintaining production quality software.
- Hardworking and self-motivated team player, someone who is technically versatile, willing to be flexible and learn new skills that you can apply across multiple types of work.
- Good interpersonal skills (written & spoken), desire to continuously develop skills and accept a variety of responsibilities and challenges
- Demonstrated passion for quality and automated technologies.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of hardware design, for example IP-XACT, Verilog, VHDL, SoC integration, chip bring up and debug activities.
- Experience in modelling across a range of file formats including XML, YAML & JSON.
- Experience with version control and code collaboration tools such as Git, Github, Gerrit Code Review & GitLab Enterprise
- Experience in firmware or embedded software.
- Experience of web application design with Python scripting environments and User-Interface Frontend Frameworks such as Angular & Electron
- Experience with AWS/Cloud technologies such as Lambda, ECR, ECS, Fargate, API Gateway, Cloudwatch and S3
- Experience in API/Web-API tools & methodologies, such as FastAPI.
- Developing in Continuous Integration, DevOps Infrastructure environments using tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins and AWS.
- Using Codex, Copilot or OpenAI API to assist code development.
Education & Qualifications
- You will need a degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or an alternative with relevant experience.
