Job Overview
We are seeking a Director of Verification to lead strategic advancements across CPU verification methodologies, tools, infrastructure, AI enablement, and engineering productivity. This leader will play a critical role in shaping next-generation verification capabilities by driving innovation across EDA partnerships, front-end flows, DevOps infrastructure, AI-powered verification use cases, and scalable engineering processes.
This role requires a unique combination of deep CPU verification expertise, organizational leadership, technology vision, and operational execution. The ideal candidate is passionate about improving both engineering productivity and verification quality, thrives in fast-moving environments, and brings the urgency, influence, and leadership needed to drive meaningful impact across the organization.
Responsibilities
Verification Strategy and Methodology
- Drive state-of-the-art CPU verification methodologies across simulation, emulation, formal, coverage, debug, and regression environments.
- Lead methodology improvements focused on both development productivity and broader verification quality initiatives.
- Partner closely with Project Verification Leads, and Unit Verification Leads to ensure effective deployment of verification methodologies across CPU projects.
- Collaborate with verification quality leadership driving organizational quality initiatives to improve verification robustness, coverage effectiveness, and execution quality.
- Champion high-quality verification practices that improve predictability, execution efficiency, and deliverable quality.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across verification workflows, infrastructure, and execution models.
EDA Vendor Engagement and Technology Leadership
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with EDA vendors and ecosystem partners.
- Evaluate, influence, and deploy best-in-class EDA technologies and capabilities.
- Partner with vendors to drive feature enhancements, performance improvements, and roadmap alignment.
- Collaborate closely with the PE organization to align tool strategies, deployment priorities, infrastructure readiness, and engineering adoption plans.
- Represent organizational needs and technical direction in executive and technical engagements with partners.
Front-End Flows and DevOps
- Own front-end verification flows, infrastructure, automation, and DevOps strategy.
- Modernize and scale verification infrastructure, regression systems, CI/CD environments, and development workflows.
- Improve development productivity and execution throughput through automation, tooling enhancements, and streamlined workflows.
- Partner with the PE organization to ensure successful deployment, integration, and operational readiness of new flow capabilities.
- Ensure robust and maintainable infrastructure supporting large-scale CPU development programs.
AI-Driven Verification Innovation
- Identify and drive high-value AI and ML use cases within the verification domain.
- Lead adoption of AI-enabled workflows to improve debug productivity, regression analysis, coverage closure, triage, and engineering efficiency.
- Partner across teams to operationalize AI capabilities within production verification environments.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and define practical deployment strategies.
Process, Maintenance, and Delivery Excellence
- Own and evolve maintenance and delivery processes supporting customer releases and sustaining engineering activities.
- Ensure reliable tracking of released designs, customer-specific versions, errata, and ongoing maintenance requirements with strong operational discipline.
- Align delivery flows and operational infrastructure with broader organizational standards and centralized solutions used across other IP organizations.
- Improve maintenance and delivery workflows to enhance traceability, operational efficiency, consistency, and execution robustness.
Organizational Leadership
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment across verification, methodology, infrastructure, and program leadership organizations.
- Communicate effectively at all organizational levels through technical reviews, strategy discussions, and executive presentations.
- Foster a culture of urgency, accountability, innovation, and engineering excellence.
- Bring intensity, ownership, and passion to drive meaningful organizational impact.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 15+ years of semiconductor industry experience with significant focus on CPU verification.
- Strong technical background in CPU verification methodologies and environments.
- Proven experience leading verification teams and large-scale engineering initiatives.
- Experience driving tooling, methodology, and flow transformations across organizations.
- Deep understanding of verification infrastructure, automation, regression systems, and front-end flows.
- Prior experience working closely with EDA vendors and managing strategic technical engagements.
- Existing relationships with major EDA vendors and ecosystem partners preferred.
- Demonstrated success driving adoption of new tools, flows, and engineering processes across teams on aggressive schedules.
- Experience leading and operating within global/distributed engineering teams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence across organizations and drive alignment without direct authority.
- Ability to operate effectively across a diverse set of technical and organizational domains simultaneously.
- Strong execution mindset with passion, intensity, urgency, and a relentless drive for continuous improvement.
- Proven track record improving engineering efficiency while simultaneously improving quality of deliverables.

- Experience driving AI/ML initiatives within semiconductor verification environments.
- Expertise in modern DevOps methodologies and scalable engineering infrastructure.
- Experience influencing verification technology roadmaps across large organizations.
- Strong understanding of verification productivity metrics and quality optimization strategies.
- Experience driving enterprise-scale process standardization and operational transformation initiatives.
- Experience aligning engineering workflows with centralized infrastructure and organizational platforms.

Salary Range:
$308,600-$417,500 per yearWe value people as individuals and our dedication is to reward people competitively and equitably for the work they do and the skills and experience they bring to Arm.
