Job Overview:
Arm provides the foundational computing architecture for billions of devices — from microcontrollers to smartphones, laptops, and cloud servers. As machine learning increasingly shifts toward the edge, developers rely on Arm to build tools and platforms that make AI deployment intuitive, efficient and scalable.
Our ML tooling teams create innovative products that help developers design, optimize, and deploy machine learning models on Arm-based devices. Millions of developers worldwide use Arm technology, and your work will directly impact how they build the next generation of AI products.
Are you passionate about the intersection of design, AI, and developer experience? Do you love digging into deeply technical problems and turning them into intuitive workflows?
As a Senior Product Designer for ML Tooling, you’ll collaborate with researchers, engineers, and product managers, to craft seamless workflows, development tools and software. You will understand every stage of the ML journey — from model creation through optimization and deployment — to design workflows that simplify complexity and accelerate innovation. Your designs will make advanced machine learning tools feel effortless and empowering!
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end experience design of a suite of ML tools, creating cohesive workflows that span data preparation, model optimization, validation, and deployment.
- Work with researchers and engineers to deeply understand technical workflows, seeing opportunities to simplify complexity without compromising capability. Support user research — from usability testing to contextual inquiry — with ML engineers, developers, and data scientists using Arm’s tools.
- Define hypotheses and success metrics, aligning user outcomes with business goals, and work with engineers to instrument and measure impact.
- Design across multiple levels of fidelity, from service blueprints and interaction flows to high-fidelity prototypes that bring advanced ML concepts to life.
- Nurture a design culture within technical teams, facilitating workshops, sharing user insights, and embedding design thinking in engineering workflows.
- Supply to and evolve Arm’s design system, extending it to support complex data visualization, console interfaces, and ML-specific UI components.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong interest and experience in machine learning, AI, or data science.
- A portfolio highlighting design for sophisticated technical or developer-focused products, such as ML tools, IDEs, CLIs, data platforms, and engineering workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to translate highly technical concepts into intuitive user experiences for developers, using systems design and service blueprinting techniques.
- Experience leading the UX of a product from concept through delivery and iteration, collaborating with product and engineering colleagues.
Nice To Have:
- Familiarity with developer experience and command-line, code, or workflow-based tools.
- Contributions to design systems for enterprise or technical applications.
In Return:
At Arm, you’ll shape how machine learning is built and deployed across billions of devices, working at the intersection of design, AI, and developer experience with world-class engineers and researchers. You’ll have strong design ownership, opportunities for deep technical growth, and the chance to make a global impact through intuitive, high-performance ML tooling.
