Job Overview:

Arm is seeking a Program Director to lead a strategic Central Engineering program, with overall responsibility for silicon delivery governance, operational execution, and consistent progress tracking.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, product, operations, and executive leaders to ensure reliable program delivery, clear decision-making, and proactive risk management across a complex, multi-domain silicon program.

This is a highly visible leadership position requiring strong influence in a matrixed organization, exceptional presentation skills, and the ability to drive alignment and outcomes across multiple internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities:

Program governance and executive alignment

  • Establish and operate the program governance model, including cadence, decision forums, stage gates, benchmark dashboards, RAID management, and change control.
  • Own executive partner management by delivering concise executive readouts, driving timely decision-making, and handling customer issues to unblock critical path delivery.
  • Drive alignment from architecture definition through implementation, ensuring achievement closure while tracking key trade-offs, risks, and decisions.

Central Engineering delivery ownership

  • Own program execution for Central Engineering IP delivery (Design/Verification): coordinated planning, readiness reviews, delivery tracking, and risk closure.
  • Drive delivery for Firmware / Boot ROM / FVP (Fixed Virtual Platforms): ensure alignment between virtual platforms, firmware enablement, and silicon achievements.
  • Guide the program process for Third-Party IP selection: requirements gathering, evaluation scheduling, decision gates, integration planning, and supplier commitments.
  • Own vendor and partner management for program-critical dependencies, including delivery tracking, issue resolution, and coordination with Legal/Compliance on SoW and trade compliance requirements.
  • Own program financial tracking including forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting.

Engineering enablement and delivery controls

  • Ensure Secure Development Lifecycle planning and evidence are coordinated into program gates, with clear ownership and audit-ready reporting.
  • Drive infrastructure and tooling readiness (e.g., Jira/Confluence workflows, RBA/tooling access) and software stack integration planning aligned with platform availability.

Cross-functional coordination

Provide program leadership and coordination across key delivery partners, including:

  • SoC delivery (Design, Verification, Physical Development)
  • SE IP delivery and third-party IP integration
  • Emulation, FPGA, and platform development
  • Board development, silicon characterization, and qualification

Necessary Skills and Experience :

  • Significant experience leading large-scale, cross-functional technology programs (silicon and/or complex hardware/software platforms).
  • Experience leading joint silicon programs with external implementation partners.
  • Experience in semiconductor initiatives, IP delivery frameworks, and third-party IP assessment/selection and integration oversight.
  • Strong expertise in program management fundamentals including planning, dependency management, risk management (RAID), change control, and executive communication for high-visibility programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and deliver in a matrix organization with multiple collaborators and challenging priorities.
  • Strong presentation skills: able to build clear executive narratives, decision papers, and streamlined status reporting.

Preferred Skills and Experience :

  • Experience with Humanoid Robotics and/or Autonomous Driving Systems
  • Experience with virtual platforms (FVP), early firmware enablement, and software readiness aligned with silicon achievements.
  • Familiarity with security/SDLC controls and gated delivery processes.
  • Experience working with suppliers and partners in a delivery-critical environment.
  • Strong tooling proficiency (e.g., Jira/Confluence, program dashboards, reporting automation).

In Return:

At Arm, you will drive delivery outcomes at the core of a strategic program, collaborating with elite engineering teams and senior leaders. You will have high visibility, broad impact, and the opportunity to shape delivery across complex silicon and platform programs.
