About the AI Applications Team:
A small, freshly formed team with a very hands-on mission.
We take early work packages, SDKs, libraries, and tools, integrate them end-to-end, and turn them into something that actually runs on real hardware. Along the way, we close the gaps, finish the missing pieces, and provide direct, practical feedback to the teams building the technology.
We also build our own reference applications and demos that act as realistic examples, prove ideas, expose issues early, and show what’s possible on the edge.
What you could be doing as an Intern?
Interns work alongside experienced engineers as part of a development team at Arm’s office in Budapest. You'll have a dedicated mentor and work on tasks that support existing projects, as well as explore and prototype ideas for the future. You'll also receive mentorship and support from other team members and have the chance to work across all aspects of the software creation process.
- Integrating delivered components into working embedded systems
- Debugging firmware, drivers, and application-level issues
- Adapting and extending example code and reference designs
- Building internal demos and proof-of-concept applications
- Giving structured, technical feedback based on real usage
This is not a “watch from the sidelines” role. You’ll be expected to experiment, break things, fix them, and explain what you learned.
We are looking for individuals who:
Are currently enrolled and studying towards a technical Degree (Bachelors, Masters or PHD students welcome).
- Have a real passion for computing that goes way beyond your formal studies
- Take a creative and yet structured approach to problem-solving
- Have a solid knowledge of C and/or C++, and an interest in maintaining developer-supporting infrastructures
- Are comfortable communicating within a small team in English too
- Have a strong desire for learning and self-improvement
Qualities that will help your application stand out:
- Experience with or contributions to the Zephyr project
- Hands-on experience with hardware and software debuggers
- Knowledge of additional languages such as shell scripting or Python
- Exposure to testing and/or verification
- Experience with any automation, DevOps and or CI/CD tools and frameworks
- Development of user applications using neural network components
- Experience in training neural network models
- CLI / TUI / GUI development experience
Additional Information:
We encourage early applications, as we review them on a first-come, first-served basis.
This is a fixed-term internship (usually 3-6 months, full time or part time, starting in 2026) designed for students who are in higher education and will be returning to their studies after the internship or placement.
In Return:
Working on exciting projects with leaders in the field is rewarding, but we also know how important support and development are. Throughout your internship, you can expect regular feedback, development opportunities, social activities with fellow interns, an end-of-internship celebration, and the opportunity to be considered for future graduate positions (subject to performance). #getreadytogrow
In addition to the salary andrewards package, our on-the-job learning and mentoring/buddy schemes provide unparalleled learning and networking opportunities from the best in the industry.

Hybrid Working at Arm
Arm’s approach to hybrid working is designed to create a working environment that supports both high performance and personal wellbeing. We believe in bringing people together face to face to enable us to work at pace, whilst recognizing the value of flexibility. Within that framework, we empower groups/teams to determine their own hybrid working patterns, depending on the work and the team’s needs. Details of what this means for each role will be shared upon application. In some cases, the flexibility we can offer is limited by local legal, regulatory, tax, or other considerations, and where this is the case, we will collaborate with you to find the best solution. Please talk to us to find out more about what this could look like for you.
