The Future of AI is Built on Arm
Arm powers the compute foundation of modern life, with more than 350 billion Arm-based chips shipped to date. The world’s most innovative companies, including AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta, NVIDIA, and Samsung, build on Arm to meet the growing compute demand that drives the AI era. From milliwatts in the smallest edge devices to megawatts in the world’s largest data centers, Arm achieves the impossible by enabling intelligent experiences that shape the future for everyone.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
You will own and evolve Arm’s emulation environments for next-generation processors and SoCs, ensuring they are scalable, performant, and aligned with the needs of both hardware and software teams.
You will drive the adoption of robust emulation methodologies across programs—enabling earlier software bring-up, faster system validation, and improved developer productivity. By working across architecture, design, verification, and software teams, you will help ensure that emulation is not just a tool, but a strategic enabler for delivering complete system solutions.
Your ownership of workflows, infrastructure, and debug strategies will improve how emulation is deployed and used across Arm, increasing reliability, throughput, and time-to-insight for complex system-level problems.
You will also play a key role in shaping how we collaborate with EDA partners—driving tool improvements, influencing roadmaps, and ensuring Arm remains at the forefront of emulation capability.
Required Skills & Experience
- A degree or equivalent practical experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science,
- Proven experience (8+ years) working with emulation platforms such as ZeBu, Palladium, or Strato
- Strong understanding of emulation, verification, and system-level debug methodologies
- Experience compiling, running, and debugging large-scale SoC designs
- Proven knowledge of RTL design (SystemVerilog/Verilog) and UVM-based environments
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Perl, or similar) for automation and workflow optimization
- Ability to independently drive complex technical problems to resolution
- Strong collaboration and communication skills in a global engineering environment
Desirable Skills
- Deep experience debugging complex emulation failures (runtime issues, crashes, or mismatches)
- Experience working directly with EDA vendors to triage issues and drive root-cause resolution
- Familiarity with shared compute environments, job scheduling, and resource management
- Experience in SoC bring-up and hardware/software co-validation
- Exposure to hybrid emulation/simulation workflows and performance modeling
- Experience optimizing throughput and performance in large-scale emulation systems.

Hybrid Working at Arm
Arm’s approach to hybrid working is designed to create a working environment that supports both high performance and personal wellbeing. We believe in bringing people together face to face to enable us to work at pace, whilst recognizing the value of flexibility. Within that framework, we empower groups/teams to determine their own hybrid working patterns, depending on the work and the team’s needs. Details of what this means for each role will be shared upon application. In some cases, the flexibility we can offer is limited by local legal, regulatory, tax, or other considerations, and where this is the case, we will collaborate with you to find the best solution. Please talk to us to find out more about what this could look like for you.
