Arm Solutions Engineering group in Sophia Antipolis develops new System on Chip Test Chips Demonstrators, combining the latest CPUs generation with the more sophisticated technology node (3nm). This internship will open the doors of the concept and design domain for Secure SoC design and associated secure IPs.
Whatcould you be doing as a Concept/Design Intern?
- Explore techniques for secure memory mapped IO operations to access external devices (DDR, SPI Flash, HyperRAM) whilst improving data throughput within the system.
- Develop innovative hardware secure algorithms and processes for parallelizing external secure memory access in multi core and distributed computing environments.
- Study innovation in scatter-gather technics and bandwidth, and propose enhancement through secure data compression and decompression or other methods.
- Propose a set of hardware algorithms to be implemented in HDL and provide associated Models.
- Code in RTL and implant those algorithms in current existing Test Chip vehicles. Assess potential hardware security improvements to be implemented in the current vehicle.
- Conduct comparative study with RTL simulation, bandwidth measurement, listing advantages and inconveniences for each solution.
- Write up, define and document the verification environment to find bugs in the design.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Understand the fundamentals of hardware secure architecture and design
- Have knowledge of hardware description languages e.g. Verilog, SystemVerilog
- Have excellent learning skills, are highly motivated with a strong work ethic
- Are proficient in scripting languages, e.g. Python/Perl/TCL
- Are fluent in oral and written English
Qualities that will help your application stand out:
- Knowledge of CPU interconnect protocols CHI, AXI, AHB, APB and OCP
- Familiarity with ARM architectures and instruction sets
- Experience with RTL and simulators
- Proficiency in software programming
- Experience of Unix development environment
- A good level of French would be advantageous

This is a tripartite agreement signed by the student, their home university and host organization, that facilitates an internship in France.
