Job Overview:
This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Emulation Engineer to join a distributed team designing and deploying advanced emulation environments for Arm’s next-generation processor and SoC platforms.
Your work will help bridge the gap between silicon design and real-world deployment, enabling earlier software development, improved system validation, and faster time-to-market.
You’ll collaborate with engineers across architecture, design, and verification to optimize complex emulation workflows and solve technical challenges that impact a wide range of compute solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain scalable emulation environments for Arm IP and SoCs.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to enable system bring-up, debug, and feature validation on emulation platforms.
- Support compilation, deployment, and debug flows for emulation systems such as Synopsys ZeBu, Cadence Palladium, and Siemens Strato.
- Solve simulation/emulation mismatches and system-level test failures.
- Work closely with EDA vendors to deploy new capabilities, resolve tool issues, and influence future tool enhancements.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Solid understanding of emulation methodologies and flows.
- Experience with emulation platforms such as ZeBu, Palladium, or Strato.
- Familiarity with RTL languages (SystemVerilog/Verilog) and UVM-based verification environments.
- Hands-on experience in compiling and debugging large-scale designs on emulation platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, or similar) to automate workflows and diagnostics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a distributed environment.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Strong debugging skills across emulation environments, including runtime issues, platform crashes, or mismatches between simulation and emulation.
- Experience collaborating with EDA vendors and internal IT teams to resolve toolchain problems, infrastructure bottlenecks, or system-level failures.
- Proven track record of prioritizing tool issues, isolating bugs with standalone test cases, and working with vendors for quick resolution and root-cause analysis.
- Background in SoC bring-up and hardware/software co-design methodologies.
- Exposure to Arm-based architecture, hybrid emulation/simulation workflows and performance modeling.
- Understanding of throughput tuning techniques and performance analysis for large-scale emulation systems.
