Job Overview: Arm is seeking an Engineer Director to join our Data Center Engineering organization to lead and supervise our engineering efforts with external data center developers. This includes electrical and mechanical design of white spaces in the data centers as well as advisory on the facility designs in support of liquid cooled, high density AI compute systems. This is an outstanding role as it requires expertise in both mechanical and electrical engineering and the ability to speak comfortably in both fields.
This role can be performed onsite or remotely within the US.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the coordination of internal and external customer compute system requirements with external data center design, engineering, manufacturing and construction.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to engineering staff developing facility white space build out plans.
- Travel to data center and equipment manufacturing locations to assess and review compliance with designs, fitness for purpose and general construction administration oversight.
- Participate in multi-functional meetings related to data center capacity, buildout and future availability.
- Participate in customer and prospective customer meetings to understand hardware compatibility requirements with facility engineering and capacity.
- Ability to create typical details, plan and elevation views of electrical and mechanical designs in white spaces and perform site adaptation of typical designs to site specific requirements.
- Coordinate external MEP firms’ work and third party equipment engineering engagements
- Perform mentoring and staff development.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 6 - 10 years of experience as a project engineer at a MEP firm, AE firm or equivalent construction company role.
- Professional Engineers license (not required for stamping/sealing purposes)
- Experience performing load calculations for electrical and mechanical systems
- Knowledge and understanding of single line drawings, equipment schedules and shop drawing reviews
- Comfortable performing construction site observations
- Experience with various control systems, PLC/SCADA systems and communication protocols
- Experience with heat pumps, heat wheels, heat exchangers, chillers, dry coolers, evaporative cooling systems and other large scale thermal systems and equipment
- Solid understanding of UPS, generator and other facility level electrical distribution equipment
- Ability to travel internationally
- Prior people management experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable meeting with and engaging directly with customers during requirements gathering and solution development
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- LEED Accredited Professional
- AutoCAD / Revit experience
- Knowledge of HPC systems and large scale enterprise IT infrastructure typically contained in data centers.
- Prior data center design and construction experience
- Knowledge of IBC/IMC/IECC, NFPA, ASHRAE, NEC, TIA, LEED BC +D and other related codes and standards

Salary Range:
