Job Overview:

We are the CPU Technology team, part of Arm’s Central Technology Group. Our diverse, engineering-led team invents, defines, and architects technologies that will craft tomorrow’s Arm IP solutions. We focus on next-generation CPUs that will power billions of devices around the world.

What could you be doing

As a Senior CPU Technology Architect, you will play a key role in shaping the future of high-performance CPUs. Your work will span performance analysis, architectural innovation, and multi-functional collaborations

  • Analyze real-world workloads and industry-standard CPU benchmarks to uncover opportunities for both hardware and software optimization.
  • Evaluate and identify CPU performance bottlenecks and architectural limitations, and propose forward-looking solutions to overcome them
  • Collaborate with hardware (CPU micro architecture/design) and software teams (compilers, operating systems, and applications) to co-design and implement enhancements that improve system efficiency (performance, power)
  • Lead and drive technical initiatives, from concept to execution, ensuring alignment across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Engage with business teams and external partners to communicate complex technical insights, share results, and influence strategic direction

We are looking for:

We’re seeking creative, driven, and collaborative individuals with a passion for performance, architecture, and innovation.

  • Confirmed experience in industry or academic research focused on CPU architecture, performance or power analysis, or related areas
  • A deep interest in CPU architecture, performance analysis, and cross-stack optimization.
  • A strong inclination toward innovation and problem solving
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, across time zones and global teams.

Qualities That Will Help Your Application Stand Out

  • Hands-on experience analyzing hardware performance or power consumption, particularly in real-world or pre-silicon environments
  • Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Arm assembly, with the ability to write performant, low-level code and analyze system behavior
  • Comfort with emerging technologies, and a curiosity that keeps you engaged with the latest advancements in computing architecture and scientific research
  • A track record of initiative, persistence, and a proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts across diverse teams.
