About the role:
We’re seeking a senior engineer to lead performance verification and analysis for complex SoCs spanning CPU, PCIe/CXL, media, interconnect, and memory controllers. You will own simulation/emulation-based workload bring-up, root-cause performance bottlenecks, and partner with IP/perf teams to turn insights into measurable analysis/debugs.
What you’ll do (Responsibilities)
- Lead architectural investigations and performance-and-power (PnP) trade-off studies across SoC and platform components; articulate data-backed recommendations.
- Build and execute simulation and emulation flows for compute and I/O workloads; profile, triage, and root-cause throughput/latency bottlenecks end-to-end.
- Collaborate closely with IP owners and performance teams to validate hypotheses, align on fixes, and track improvements to closure.
- Design profiling/visualization frameworks with the right abstractions; develop automation that streamlines production workflows and confidence checks.
- Continuously track advances in workload characterization, application behavior, and verification/analysis techniques; fold best practices into the roadmap.
Required skills & experience
- 4+ years in SoC performance verification/analysis with demonstrable impact.
- Degree in EE/CE/CS with strong computer architecture & microarchitecture fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of CPU/GPU microarchitecture (pipelines, caches, memory hierarchy).
- Proficient in C/C++ for large-scale development; solid Python for scripting and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder skills; able to explain complex trade-offs succinctly.
- Proven ability to own perf verification across diverse silicon platforms—from plan to results.
“Nice to have”
- Familiarity with interconnect microarchitecture, PCIe/CXL, CHI protocols.
- Understanding of workload tuning under system constraints (e.g., TDP, power/thermal limits).
- Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments; strong prioritization instincts.
- Hands-on with Unix/Linux, scripting, and version control (Git/Subversion).

Hybrid Working at Arm
Arm’s approach to hybrid working is designed to create a working environment that supports both high performance and personal wellbeing. We believe in bringing people together face to face to enable us to work at pace, whilst recognizing the value of flexibility. Within that framework, we empower groups/teams to determine their own hybrid working patterns, depending on the work and the team’s needs. Details of what this means for each role will be shared upon application. In some cases, the flexibility we can offer is limited by local legal, regulatory, tax, or other considerations, and where this is the case, we will collaborate with you to find the best solution. Please talk to us to find out more about what this could look like for you.
