Job Overview:
As a member of the Identity & Directory Services team, will be responsible for the implementation, management and maintenance of our Active Directory, Entra ID, Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) LDAP directory services and identity management systems, ensuring a unified approach across all our directories. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with LDAP and directory services on Linux platforms, ensuring secure, reliable and efficient authentication and authorisation processes across our systems.
Responsibilities:
- Management of the objects in the directories such as users, groups, directory schema, object classes and attributes, with a focus on our LDAP directory service.
- Design, implement, and maintain our LDAP directory on Linux systems to support authentication and authorisation needs.
- Monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues related to directory services, including replication, synchronisation, access problems and optimising the directory services for speed and efficiency implementing improvements as necessary.
- Implementing strategies for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery, ensuring service continuity.
- Build, deploy and maintain standard or custom images, using automated provisioning / configuration management of sophisticated multi-tier environments using tools such as Terraform, Ansible or Puppet.
- Working with engineering on developing and supporting new authentication standards such as SPIFFE.
- Writing scripts and automating administrative tasks to improve efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience of managing and maintaining LDAP directory services, such as OUD, OpenLDAP, ForgeRock.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID and identity management systems.
- Experience with Linux operating systems, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl) for automation tasks.
- Experience in system installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based systems.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
Experience with OUD!
Familiarity with tools like Ansible, Terraform or Puppet for configuration management and automation.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
Proficiency with GitLab for version control and collaboration.
