Job Overview:
Join Arm as a Linux Specialist - EUC and become a vital member of an elite team! Located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, you will work alongside Windows and Mac experts to uphold a robust and secure Linux environment. You will have the opportunity to contribute to high-reaching projects that propel our company's success by guaranteeing stability and security across our global Linux systems.
Responsibilities:
- Handle complex Linux incidents and service requests from triage to resolution.
- Support critical incidents, restore service quickly, and help prevent repeat issues.
- Maintain Linux endpoint builds, images, and supported applications.
- Carry out patching, package management, routine maintenance, and vulnerability remediation.
- Develop and update Bash and shell scripts to automate operational tasks.
- Use Puppet or comparable configuration management tools to ensure uniform and compliant endpoint configurations.
- Build runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles, and keep work tracked in ServiceNow.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience supporting enterprise Linux environments, ideally Ubuntu or similar distributions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux OS, packages, authentication, user environment, printing, and endpoint security.
- Hands-on experience with Bash or shell scripting.
- Experience with Puppet or comparable configuration management software.
- Familiarity with patch management, package handling, software installation, and addressing security vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with incident, request, and change management, ideally in ServiceNow.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
“Desired” Skills and Experience:
- 4 to 8 yrs of experience supporting Linux endpoints at scale in a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with endpoint hardening, security tooling, and compliance-focused operational practices!
- Proficient in Bash and shell scripting to handle endpoint issues.
- Experience in managing MDM tools to configure endpoints.
- Experience in testing or providing support for beta operating systems, new hardware, or platform modifications.
- Knowledge of application packaging and controlled deployment practices.
