We are looking for the next leader for Software Programs in Arm!

In this critical role, you'll be the driving force behind a portfolio of large, multi-functional software programs spanning multiple products and organizations.

You'll apply your expertise in both defining software strategy and driving program execution to deliver Software Solutions that solve the compute challenges the world is facing.

Your leadership will ensure multiple programs deliver predictably, at high quality, and in alignment with business objectives.

The role requires a Strategic problem solver with strong business insight, that communicates and influences effectively across organisation boundaries and with senior stakeholders.

You will report directly to the SVP of Software and be a key member of the Software leadership team.

The position will be based at Arm corporate headquarters, Cambridge, United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Define and drive the software program strategy in support of the company’s product roadmap.
  • Translate business objectives into executable, measurable program plans.
  • Lead a portfolio of large, multi-functional software programs spanning multiple products and organizations.
  • Establish a culture of predictable execution, transparency and accountability.
  • Drive organisational maturity in planning, governance and delivery.
  • Lead a high-performance program management team passionate about accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Represent Software Programs on the Software Leadership Team, contributing to broader organisational strategy.
  • Build organisational capability through coaching, succession planning and leadership development.

Program Execution

  • Drive execution across multiple concurrent programs while balancing priorities, resources, and risks
  • Drive alignment and integration with higher level product programs
  • Own the Software program governance model across the organisation.
  • Develop a consistent planning framework spanning roadmap, execution and customer delivery.
  • Drive enterprise-wide dependency management across engineering organisations.
  • Identify systemic execution risks and implement improvements.
  • Identify cross-organizational dependencies and remove blockers before they impact delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with standards for security, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration and Influencing

  • Influence senior executives and key decision makers through clear communication, evidence-based recommendations and trusted relationships.
  • Navigate ambiguity, conflicting priorities and organisational complexity to enable effective decision making.
  • Build alignment across Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Product Security, Customer Success, and Operations.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience leading software programs within large technology organizations.
  • Tested experience leading large multi-functional teams without relying solely on direct authority.
  • Strong background delivering enterprise software, embedded software, platform software, cloud services, or developer ecosystems.
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and delivering software to customers at scale, which would include elements comprising a typical SW stack (from firmware and boot flow to OS and applications)
  • Experience in working on software close to the hardware, enabling production quality deliveries.
  • Ability to express ideas and communicate effectively with other team members, customers and suppliers - formulating and delivering on strategy
  • Comfortable with the requirement to travel as appropriate.

  • Experience with software delivery metrics and engineering productivity measurement.

Salary Range:

£221,000 - £299,000 per year
