Overview
Join an outstanding team crafting the future of graphics technology! At the forefront of innovation, our GPU team develops ground breaking solutions that power everything from mobile devices and automotive systems to machine learning, IoT, and beyond. Your work will directly influence the next generation of media processing - delivering high-performance, energy-efficient GPUs used by billions around the globe.
About the Role
We're seeking a skilled software engineer with strong experience in 3D graphics and a solid foundation in Windows system-level development to join our DirectX driver team. In this
role, you'll help build and optimize Direct3D 11 and 12 drivers for the latest Mali™ GPUs, enabling efficient communication between applications and GPU hardware.
You'll collaborate with dedicated engineers and industry-leading customers worldwide to build premium GPU solutions for Windows platforms - helping deliver outstanding graphics performance on next generation, power-efficient Windows devices!
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Direct3D 11 and 12 drivers for Mali™ GPUs.
- Design and implement low-level software that interfaces between the OS graphics stack and the GPU hardware.
- Minimize driver overhead to improve GPU performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with multi-functional teams and global partners to deliver robust, high-performance solutions.
- Contribute to technical design discussions and craft future GPU capabilities.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with 3D computer graphics, including hands-on work with high-performance, explicit graphics APIs such as Direct3D 12 (preferred), Vulkan, or Metal; experience with Direct3D 11, OpenGL, or OpenGL ES is also valuable.
- Experience developing Direct3D 11 or 12 drivers is helpful. Alternatively, strong familiarity with Windows development at the operating system interface level relevant to graphics drivers - or the ability and determination to rapidly acquire this expertise.
- Proficiency in current C++ (C++17 and newer).
- University degree in computer science or a related field (such as mathematics or physics), or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with GPU hardware architecture, including memory management, GPU-facing data structures, and GPU-specific synchronization mechanisms, particularly CPU-GPU coordination.
- Understanding of parallel programming principles, including threading models, synchronization mechanisms, and techniques for resolving concurrency issues.
- Debugging and problem-solving skills, especially when working across hardware and software boundaries.
- Methodical, analytical, and meticulous approach to engineering challenges.
- Proactive attitude with a focus on improving code quality, performance, and development processes.
