Our Neoverse cores are leading a technology disruption! We need a Staff Platform Validation Engineer to work with the Arm Central Engineering partners and support the growing demand for Neoverse cores in the Cloud and Datacenter. You will be an individual contributor engaging and collaborating with internal and external partners to enable and support Arm Infrastructure hardware software ecosystem. Responsibilities:
- Engage with ODM partners to drive board development, schematic, layout and board bring up plan.
- Engage with ODM partners to review board schematics and understand complex electronic circuit diagrams.
- Test high density PCB assemblies for computing products (eg. PC's, servers etc)
- Methodically work through the board debug process with minimal input, in a structured approach.
- Test and debug high speed interfaces including I2C, UART, SPI, PCIe, DDR, USB etc.
- Track down complex design faults that might include issue related to: timing, IO levels, rise/fall times, noise, bus contention, power supply sequencing, incorrect pin assignments, clocking, resets etc.
- Maintain scalability and deployment of production firmware, validation OS and test suite for device screening process.
Required Skills and Experience :
- A degree or equivalent experience in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience as a Board Design Engineer, Hardware Test Engineer, and/or similar role.
- Strong understanding of BIOS bring-up & validation plan on ODM design reference platform.
- Experience with ODM reference board prototype bring-up and debugging.
- Familiarity with hardware design and testing.
- Solid understanding of Board level schematic & PCB layout.
- Strong understanding of the components that make up a PCB assembly and their interactions.
- Experience of using digital meters, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, debuggers and other lab test equipment
- Experience of using soldering iron and able to rework boards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A desire for learning and self-improvement
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Familiarity with industry standards such as PCIe, USB, I2C, DDR, SPI etc.
- Experience with the install and debug of Linux and/or Windows operating systems for use in Cloud and Datacenter solutions
- Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with Cloud and Datacenter infrastructure and software solutions
