We need a Stuff Platform Applications Engineer to work with partners and support the growing demand for Neoverse cores in the Cloud and Datacenter. You will be an individual contributor engaging and collaborating with internal and external partners to enable and support Arm Infrastructure hardware software ecosystem. Job Role
Applications Engineering is a varied, deeply technical role, where you will not only use your expertise but your interpersonal skills to support our partners through their technical challenges. This role focuses on supporting our firmware stack and software solutions implemented on Arm’s reference boards for cloud computing and helping our partners to develop and debug their server platforms.
Working with customers means that you will need to understand what they want to achieve, analyze their requests and issues, and provide a solution that moves them forward. Your job role will have several components:
- Provide support for our partners with board, firmware and software related problems on their Arm-based systems.
- Crafting content and guides for customers to understand our ecosystem and the usage of our software systems
- Training our partners to enable them to develop and optimize their Arm-based platform
- Take part in board prototype bring-up and debugging.
- Engage with ODM partners to drive board related debug & bring up activities.
- Maintain scalability and deployment of production firmware, validation OS and test suite for device screening process.
Required Skills and Experience :
- 4+ years of experience in field.
- A degree or equivalent experience in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of BIOS bring-up & validation plan on ODM design reference platform.
- Good understanding of the Linux kernel (subsystems and device drivers)
- Good understanding of UEFI and ACPI
- Understanding of modern processor architecture, including cache behavior, and memory system behavior
- Experience in board bring-up and debugging
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A desire for learning and self-improvement
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Familiarity with industry standards such as PCIe, USB, I2C, DDR, SPI etc.
- Experience with the install and debug of Linux and/or Windows operating systems for use in Cloud and Datacenter solutions
- Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with Cloud and Datacenter infrastructure and software solutions
