Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior 3D Artist to serve as the vital link between art and technology within our demo content development pipeline. In this role, you will work collaboratively with both artists and engineers to bring creative visions to life while ensuring efficient performance and technical feasibility!
Responsibilities:
- Artistic Direction: Own the artistic vision for demo content, ensuring all assets consistently adhere to the established direction.
- Asset Integration: Oversee the accurate integration of assets into the engine, safeguarding their artistic integrity.
- Technical Teamwork: Partner with engineers to understand hardware features and limitations, aligning artistic production with technical constraints.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with outsourcing artists, in-house 3D artists, and engineers to ensure assets meet demonstration and performance requirements.
- Outsourcing Management: Supervise external artists to ensure that concepts, models, animations, and textures meet our quality standards.
- Pipeline Optimization: Develop and refine art pipelines and workflows for assets, shaders, lighting, and visual effects.
- Shader & Material Development: Create, modify, and optimize shaders, materials, and rendering techniques.
- Troubleshooting: Debug and resolve art-related technical issues within game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
- Travel Flexibility: Attend conference, workshops and industry event to showcase the company's work, network with professionals, and stay updated on the latest tools and techniques.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Able to communicate in English at a daily work level.
- Strong expertise in 3D asset creation and optimization (polygons, LODs, textures, UV mapping, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary systems.
- Proven experience in shader programming (HLSL, GLSL, Shader Graph, or Material Editor).
- Advanced proficiency in 3D software (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, Houdini, Substance Painter).
- In-depth understanding of real-time rendering, PBR workflows, lighting, and FX systems.
- Familiarity with real-time lighting and rendering principles.
- Experience with VFX, rigging, and animation pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in debugging asset performance issues.
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities to effectively relay technical solutions to both artists and engineers.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for conferences, networking events, and project meetings.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Knowledge of machine learning, AI-driven asset generation, or automation in art pipelines.
- Experience in concept art creation.
- Previous involvement in AAA game development, animation, or VFX industries.
- Experience in mobile game development.
- Proficiency with procedural generation tools (e.g., Houdini, SpeedTree, Substance Designer).
