Job Overview:
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) is a part of Arm Sales force, collaborating with the Taiwan Field Applications Engineering Manager. The FAE works closely with Partner managers by providing technical pre-sales support to develop and win new licensing, design-in and pull-through opportunities at Taiwan Partners. Acting as a technical account manager, the FAE is also responsible for handling (but not performing) the post-sales support provided by the Applications Engineering team to Partners.
It is meaningful this position develops professional relationships with the key engineers, architects, and decision-makers and partners. It is also meaningful that the FAE can build, report, and complete key product promotion strategies growing the business of Arm products within customers.
The FAE will also participate in defining new products or services to meet the needs of Arm customers. It is encouraged to maintain a high standard of technical knowledge in relation to Arm and its products, services, and competitors.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical lead to support licensing, design-win, and IP deployment discussions.
- Collaborate with government-facing teams and regional partners to shape and influence ecosystem development aligned with Arm’s roadmap.
- Represent Arm’s technology vision in regional events, technical forums, and customer workshops.
- Provide technical consultancy for customers, primarily in data center and automotive sectors.
- Drive adoption of Arm’s IP portfolio including compute subsystems, GPUs, system IP, and software enablement tools.
- See opportunities for deeper collaboration with IC design houses, ODMs/OEMs, and cloud partners in the region.
- Provide regular insights on competitive landscape and regional market trends to Arm’s business unit and sales teams.
Serve as the local technical liaison for regional strategic engagements and R&D
Required Skills and Experience :
- Proven experience in digital design, SoC development, software architecture, or application engineering.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Arm CPU/GPU/subsystem IP, development tools, and SoC integration processes.
- Demonstrated experience in customer-facing pre-sales or technical consulting roles.
- Proven track record to articulate sophisticated technical concepts to both engineering and business stakeholders.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with South East Asia technology market dynamics would be a plus.
- Willingness to relocate and base in Malaysia for the duration of the assignment.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Prior experience working in regional assignments or ecosystem development projects.
- Knowledge of regional data center trends, automotive electrification, and AI compute workloads.
- Strong network within local IC design, OEM/ODM, or government-linked tech ecosystems.
