Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Power System Design Engineer with deep expertise in VRD (Voltage Regulator Down) design and DC/DC power conversion. This engineer will play a key role in enabling and validating power designs for next-generation server platforms. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal teams, customers, ODMs, and OEMs to ensure high-performance, efficient, and reliable power delivery.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with ODMs to define and validate high-current, low-voltage, multi-phase DC/DC converter (VRD) solutions for server systems.
- Lead and review circuit simulation, power integrity, and system validation efforts conducted by ODM partners
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and thermal engineers to ensure seamless power subsystem integration.
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers, ODMs, and OEMs throughout the product lifecycle.
- Ensure designs meet industry compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Document design specifications, test plan, and design guidelines for manufacturing and validation teams.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in DC/DC power supply design, with shown focus on VRD for server platforms.
- Solid understanding of power electronics, closed-loop control systems, and thermal design.
- Proficient in using EM simulation tools such as PowerDC, PowerSI, and SiWave to analyze power and signal integrity in high-speed PCB systems.
- Hands-on experience with PCB design and layout practices.
- Familiar with power-related industry standards and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical and debug skills with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience
- Direct experience with server platform power delivery network (PDN) design.
- Deep knowledge of PCB layout standard processes for power applications.
- Expertise in compensation design for control loops, including phase margin and gain margin tuning for system stability.
