Job Overview
We are looking for a hands‑on Customer Support Engineer to help our customers enable, customize, and debug BIOS and SoC firmware on Arm‑based server and workstation platforms. You will collaborate with customer firmware teams, Arm architecture specialists, solution engineering and central engineering groups, providing fast technical support and leading issue‑triage activities for UEFI, ACPI, and SoC firmware components.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first‑line BIOS/UEFI and SoC firmware support for customer server designs.
- Guide customers through firmware porting, configuration, and feature enablement on Arm reference platforms.
- Reproduce, triage, and resolve pre‑boot, boot‑loader, and runtime firmware issues from post‑silicon to mass production.
- Analyze debug logs, trace data, and crash dumps to pinpoint root causes, driving fixes with internal IP and architecture teams.
- Lead joint debug sessions with ODM/OEM partners, tracking issues to closure with clear documentation.
- Develop reference BIOS settings, application notes, and knowledge‑base articles to speed up customer adoption.
- Provide concise status updates to collaborators and occasional on‑site or remote customer support.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in BIOS/UEFI or SoC firmware development, validation, or customer support for servers, workstations, or complex embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of Arm architecture, boot flows (TF‑A, U‑Boot, EDK II)
- Hands‑on experience with firmware debugging tools: serial and network consoles, JTAG/debuggers
- Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to lead multiple issues at once.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience
- Experience collaborating with ODM/OEM partners and JDM manufacturing models.
- Knowledge of ACPI, SMBIOS, PCIe firmware, BMC/IPMI, and secure‑boot technologies.
- Familiarity with continuous‑integration flows, source‑control systems, and automated firmware validation frameworks.
