Are you creative, innovative and enthusiastic about new technologies? Do you enjoy programming and problem solving? We are looking for interns who are passionate about a career in microarchitecture and processor design to join our team in Sophia Antipolis.
Arm’s Sophia Antipolis design centre is located in one of the most appealing parts of France, the French Riviera, at the heart of Europe’s largest and most dynamic technology park. Surrounded by mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, this outstanding design centre has delivered leading products from Arm’s Cortex (TM) CPU family. These CPUs power some of the world’s best-selling smartphones, tablets and gaming systems, using technology that has taken user experience and performance to another level.
Job Overview:
This internship position is available in the CPU Performance Analysis and Micro-architecture Modelling team, an international team comprised of an enthusiastic mix of experts and talented graduates. At the crossroads of software and hardware, our activities cover all performance-related topics for the CPUs developed in the centre, from early microarchitectural investigations, to performance verification of the final products.
We are offering a wide variety of internships that will be discussed during the interviews, depending on your profile and development wishes. All selected subjects are highly challenging projects, requiring deep interest in advanced technologies, excellent knowledge of computer systems, strong analytical skills, and a high degree of autonomy and creativity.
The internship topics are updated regularly, and can vary from:
- CPU micro-architectural studies (cache replacement policies, data prefetchers, branch prediction)
- development of specific features or optimizations in the micro-architectural model (e.g. perfect micro-architectural modes to enable limit studies)
- improvements to our different performance analysis techniques or performance verification flow
Interested by the challenge? Join our team! We look forward to receiving your application!
What could you be doing as a CPU Performance Analysis and Modelling Intern?
The aim of our internships is to develop your potential and expand the opportunities on offer to you, providing an incredible variety of potential career paths. We will support you with continuous learning and development, whilst encouraging you to achieve professional chartered status.
We want to make sure that every intern learns about different aspects of our work and grows their knowledge, so you will work in a team on real projects from day one, with guidance from expert engineers, and also have dedicated time for personal development.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have knowledge of CPU microarchitecture
- Have experience of UNIX and shell programming
- Are fluent in written and oral English
Qualities that will help your application stand out:
Depending on the selected internship subject, other desirable skills might include:
- Programming skills (C language and/or Python)
- Some expertise in Data Science
Additional Information:
We encourage early applications as we review them on a first come/first served basis.
Arm Internships require you to be enrolled in a higher education degree.
French Law requires students to complete an internship agreement (Convention de Stage). This is a tripartite agreement signed by the student, their home university and host organization, that facilitates an internship in France. It is the contract defining all the essential points of the internship: duration, missions, remuneration and benefits, insurance in the event of an accident, etc.
It is preferable that Arm's own template of the agreement is used. Successful applicants will be required to provide contact details of the appropriate university representatives in order to have the agreement signed.
In Return:
Working on interesting new projects with leaders in the field is exciting, but we also know how important it is to receive support. That's why throughout your internship, you can expect regular feedback and development opportunities, social activities to connect with your peers, an end of internship celebration, plus the opportunity to be *considered for future Graduate positions (*subject to performance). #getreadytogrow
In addition to a competitive salary andrewards package, our on-the-job learning and mentoring/buddy schemes provide unparalleled learning and networking opportunities from the best in the industry.
