The GPU Engineering Group produces graphics hardware as well as software products for mobile and embedded devices. The Mali hardware is supported by high-performance software drivers including OpenGL ES and Vulkan running on multiple different operating systems, including Android, ChromeOS, and Linux. Mali, our flagship GPU processors, set a new standard for performance, while Mali remains the most energy-efficient in the ultra low-end product range.
About the Role
We are now hiring software engineers for the GPU Optimization Team who have a strong interest in improving GPU software performance. Our team works closely with Arm global GPU teams to lead GPU performance efforts. This teamwork strives to achieve PPA leadership in the mobile world, focusing on Vulkan and ANGLE performance.
The role requires technical skills, innovation, and the ability to communicate efficiently across global organizations. You will work closely with GPU software, hardware, and architect teams. You will also have the chance to expand your knowledge through collaboration with CPU and Interconnect IP experts.
The team is located in Shanghai and will work together with multiple teams located in Cambridge (UK), Trondheim (Norway), and Lund (Sweden). Working with multi-site teams, you would be encouraged to have good communication skills and an open approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Vulkan and ANGLE drivers for Mali GPUs.
- Analyze content and investigate hotspots from application to driver software.
- Minimize driver overhead to improve GPU performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-site teams and global partners to deliver high-performance solutions.
- Give to technical build discussions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Professional experience developing C/C++ software.
- Knowledge of graphics technology and standards such as Vulkan, ANGLE, OpenGL/OpenGL ES/EGL, Direct3D.
- Experience of performance modeling, profiling, and analysis.
- Experience with the agile development approach is a plus.
- Experience with SoC understanding is a plus.
- University degree in computer science or a related field (such as mathematics or physics), or equivalent experience.
