Job Overview:
Are you an experienced C developer with a background in firmware or device drivers? If so, we have openings in Arm’s Galway office to form a new team delivering software to support an exciting range of Arm hardware devices aimed at AI use cases. We welcome applications at all grades from engineer to engineering manager.
Applications for engineers will be developing firmware for system devices, booting into Linux and Linux device drivers. You will be proficient in C and have prior experience in low-level development, including debugging and testing using physical hardware, FPGA or simulated environments.
Applications for engineering manager are expected to work with architects, other technical leaders and project managers to define, estimate, plan and deliver work for your team. You will also be the line manager for the team, handling the full range of activities such as hiring, development and performance evaluations.
This team is part of the wider software group in Arm. Our mission is to ensure successful deployment of the Arm architecture into key software ecosystems. This role is based in Arm’s Galway office.
Responsibilities:
·Developing firmware and Linux device drivers in C
·Working across the complete software lifecycle, including requirements, planning, development, release and support and maintenance
·Engineering manager: Leading a high-performing team of up to 4 engineers
Required Skills and Experience:
·Experience in the full software lifecycle from requirements to release, including support and maintenance
·Expertise in firmware and/or Linux device driver development
·Effective communicator and ability to collaborate well within and across teams
·Engineering manager: Experience in managing and developing other engineers
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
·Experience in automation of device driver testing using hardware devices or software emulation
·Awareness of power management techniques
·Knowledge of the Arm AArch64 architecture
·Experience working with PCIe or UCIe attached devices
·Experience with VirtIO drivers
