You will join an expert and motivated team responsible for crafting the next generation of Automotive and Industrial Architectures using innovative technologies, like AI, Chiplets, Quantum, etc. The role requires driving the HW and SW Architectures Safety and Security Concepts, Model-Based Safety and Security Analyses (MBSA and MBCA) for Automotive and Industrial applications involving AI components in a dependability context, considering system attributes like Safety, Cybersecurity, Reliability, Availability, and Real-Time. You will use industry-standard coordinated design and analysis tools to conduct a comprehensive set of inductive and deductive, qualitative, and quantitative safety and security analyses and technology investigations.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out thorough Model-Based Safety and Cybersecurity Analysis (MBSA/MBCA) activities to develop Technical Safety and Security Concepts for automotive and industrial HW, SW, and System Architectures integrating AI Components.
- Contribute to new emerging technologies investigations, i.e., reliability, cybersecurity, AI, and predictive maintenance.
- Define, review, and improve Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA), attack trees, security requirements, and security controls in compliance with standards like ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE WP.29.
- Support integration of hardware security modules (HSMs) and secure boot concepts into SoC and system designs.
- Drive exploration, continuous improvement, and standardization of safety and cybersecurity methodologies; evaluate new tools and propose new creative practices to enable efficient application and adoption.
- Deliver high-quality documentation, i.e., reports and work products, according to industry standards, groundbreaking methodologies, tools, and templates.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Design and Verification of embedded electronic systems, HW and SW architectures, with experience in HDL languages (e.g., Verilog, VHDL) and programming languages (e.g., Assembler, C, C++, Python).
- Experience working on functional safety and cybersecurity development projects applying industry standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO/SAE 21434, DO-254, and DO-178C.
- Deep knowledge and application of safety and cybersecurity analysis methodologies using industry-standard tools: FTA, FMEDA, SW FMEA, STPA, SPFM/LFM, PMHF, TARA, attack trees, STRIDE, and DFDs.
- Familiarity with hardware/software security architectures, including secure boot, trusted execution environments, secure communication protocols, and cryptographic mechanisms.
- Skilled in authoring and reviewing high-quality safety and security documentation.
- Strong social skills to convey complex technical information efficiently.
“Nice To Have”:
- A Degree in Electronics or Computer Science or relevant proven experience (PhD a plus!).
- Experience developing ML/AI applications using toolchains such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Professional certifications in Functional Safety (e.g., TÜV) and Cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH, or ISO/SAE 21434 Practitioner).
- Exposure to reliability methodologies and standards for SoCs (e.g., RAS, Predictive Maintenance, BFR, HTOL, HAST).
- Experience with safety-critical automotive and industrial solutions (AD, ADAS, IVI, Digital Cockpit, Industry 4.0).
- Knowledge of SoC Architectures, Chiplet design, and HW/SW Architecture Modelling. Familiarity with Model-Based System Engineering, ISO 15288, MagicGrid Framework, SysML 2.0.
