Job Overview:

Our team crafts developer platforms and tools that help users get the best out of Arm technology and our mission is to make AI software development on the Arm architecture simple and intuitive. We support Arm’s outstanding developer ecosystem with practical, high-quality solutions that enable developers to seamlessly compose, build and deploy AI workloads accelerated by Arm-based hardware.

We are growing our team and are looking for a curious and driven engineer who is passionate about delivering impactful, high-quality software with a strong focus on the end user experience. You will work across developer tools, platform capabilities, runtime services and deployment workflows.

Success in this role means reducing developer friction, moving comfortably across stacks and thinking beyond the code to the full user journey. Practical experience of ML model optimisation techniques, deployment and efficient execution on constrained devices would make you a particularly strong addition to the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain developer-facing APIs, libraries, tools and platforms, creating reliable abstractions over hardware, deployment environments and runtime capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership for AI developer tooling, identifying technology gaps and helping shape architecture, technical direction and product roadmaps.
  • Deliver high-quality developer experiences, applying emerging technologies and optimising workflows for real-world constraints including performance, power, reliability, observability and reproducibility.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams, product managers, UX specialists and developers across Arm to understand user needs, identify friction and ensure technical decisions align with product and ecosystem goals.
  • Drive software quality and ecosystem adoption through testing, code review, well-designed interfaces, maintainable implementations and contributions to upstream and open-source projects where appropriate.

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Linux, containerisation and experience with programming languages such as Go, Python, Rust or TypeScript.
  • Proven experience of engineering quality through maintainable software, automated testing, continuous integration, effective engineering processes and customer feedback.
  • Ability to navigate unfamiliar domains, identify areas for improvement and translate that into practical solutions.
  • A passion for building high-quality developer tools and intuitive workflows that make complex AI capabilities intuitive and easy to use by our target developers.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :

We value an eagerness to continuously learn new technologies over experience with any particular technology. Experience in any of the following would also be beneficial:

  • Experience building developer-facing CLIs, SDKs, APIs or web tools, with an interest in UX, interaction design and developer workflows.
  • Knowledge of Arm architectures.
  • Strong understanding of neural-network execution and inference runtimes, including computational graphs, operators, memory management, backend partitioning and execution across heterogeneous hardware.
  • Experience with hardware-aware model optimisation and performance analysis, including quantisation, graph optimisation, operator fusion, precision reduction, profiling and debugging across latency, memory, model size and accuracy.
  • Experience across ML frameworks, model formats and deployment tooling, such as PyTorch, ONNX/ONNX Runtime, ExecuTorch, TensorFlow/LiteRT and OpenVINO, including model inspection, visualisation and benchmarking across CPUs, GPUs and ML accelerators.

In Return:

Our team offers an inclusive and highly collaborative environment, with work that spans a wide variety of products and technology stacks, ensuring there will always be plenty of opportunity to learn and challenge yourself. You will help shape practical developer platforms, tools and workflows for emerging AI workloads on Arm, while working as a broad, user-focused software engineer rather than being tied to a single specialist domain.

An opportunity to work on greenfield software products which ship with emerging Arm hardware on day one.

Please provide a covering letter with your application.

If skilled worker sponsorship is required, Arm will meet costs associated with sponsorship for the employer only. All fees associated with the individual’s application e.g. visa application fee and Immigration Health Surcharge, will be the responsibility of the successful candidate.
