Job Overview:

Our growing team investigates how consumer-focused devices deliver outstanding performance within highly constrained power and thermal budgets. This investigation goes beyond simple number gathering, with detailed benchmarking measuring what matters most to real users.

This data from real physical devices is used by architects, engineering teams and product managers to make our future products even better. We always keep in mind this end use of our benchmarking results, working collaboratively to produce great outcomes for Arm and our partners.

Responsibilities:

The engineer joining our established team would add to our capacity in the domain of power efficiency analysis, working to:

  • Schedule experiments to capture performance data targeting a key hypothesis to explore,
  • Analyse power traces to produce power efficiency data,
  • Report key findings from performance analysis with supporting data in a readable form,
  • Extend and maintain a network of devices and automated workloads,

Required Skills and Experience :

We spend most of our time working to get high quality data from devices that are designed for people rather than engineers. This brings its own challenges, so we are looking for an engineer who:

  • Is self-motivated and curious, committed to finding creative ways in which to measure the power efficiency of the latest tech,
  • Has a high attention to detail and standards of quality,
  • Has a proactive approach to problem solving, with the ability to debug devices, electronic circuits and scripts when required,
  • Is proficient at using tools such as Python to post-process data, produce statistical summaries and performance reports.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :

The following are things that we would be looking for in our ideal new team member.

  • Has practical skills for modifying and fixing electronic devices,
  • Embraces the challenges inherent when experimenting across many dimensions of variables,
  • Has practical experience of software development as part of a team, enabling you to contribute to our team's large scale automation systems.

If you do not have everything on the list, please feel free to apply anyway, and we can discuss further

In Return:

You get to work on the latest consumer devices on the market and play a meaningful role in the successful delivery of new technology to billions of people. We collaborate on projects with teams across Arm from design through to partner engagements, so you will gain technical expertise and unparalleled insight into everything that goes into making an amazing chip!
