The Arm Portfolio and Product Planning team works across the organisation to drive, influence, and shape how business strategies become reality through Arm’s products, solutions, and roadmaps.
As Portfolio and Product Planning Director – Roadmaps and Capacity, you will coordinate Arm’s central roadmap and capacity planning capability. You will set the vision, define the operating model, and ensure roadmaps are governed, high quality, and actively used to support value-led decisions.
You will lead a compact group and work closely with the Head of Portfolio and Product Planning. This includes building the governance, data quality, tooling, and ways of working needed to scale Arm’s roadmap-led planning model.
You will also be actively involved in Arm product and solution authorizations, preparedness assessments, and the associated lifecycle. Working with operational divisions, engineering groups, financial teams, commercial departments, and manufacturing, you will assist in making proposals clear and evidence-based. They will be prepared for discussion with Arm leadership and the Portfolio Board.
This role needs someone who can balance pace with structure, connect planning silos through roadmaps, make capacity management a core planning capability, and use data, tools, and insights to improve enterprise decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Arm’s roadmap and capacity planning capability frameworks, setting the vision, operating model, governance, and execution rhythm.
- Run and develop a small team covering roadmap, portfolio governance, capacity, and delivery planning.
- Work with the Head of Portfolio and Product Planning to mature Arm’s enterprise portfolio and roadmap capabilities.
- Ensure roadmaps are standards-led, high quality, decision-ready, and actively used in portfolio, investment, lifecycle, and delivery decisions.
- Lead the coordination model for how Arm resources are planned, reviewed, prioritised, and raised.
- Build resource prioritisation frameworks that connect capacity to strategic value, business impact, delivery risk, and product outcomes.
- Lead roadmap and capacity scenario planning across demand, staffing, timing, dependencies, and trade-offs.
- Support Arm product and solution approval and readiness activities across the lifecycle.
- Partner with Business Units to develop strong proposals for Arm executives and Portfolio Board.
- Influence senior collaborators across Business Units, Engineering, Finance, Commercial, and Manufacturing.
- Build the roadmap and capacity function by balancing agility with structure, creating shared ownership, using data and tools to scale, and encouraging constructive challenge.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Significant experience in portfolio management, product management, long-term planning, roadmap management, or business planning.
- Validated ability to set a vision, build capability, lead a team, and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Experience in roadmap governance, capacity planning, resource management, product approvals, readiness reviews, or investment prioritisation.
- Strong understanding of ERM tools, capacity planning processes, and value-led resource prioritisation frameworks.
- Strong business judgement, with the ability to connect roadmap demand, capacity constraints, investment choices, lifecycle readiness, and product outcomes.
- Experience influencing senior team members across Business Units, Engineering, Finance, Commercial, Operations, and executive forums.
- Good understanding of the semiconductor industry and Arm’s product range.
- Ability to turn complex portfolio data and product proposals into clear recommendations and executive narratives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence operating in senior decision-making forums.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :
- Technical, engineering, or SoC background.
- Experience with enterprise portfolio management or strategic portfolio management platforms.
- Experience implementing portfolio operating models, governance standards, lifecycle frameworks, or planning transformation.
- Experience connecting roadmap, capacity, finance, delivery, commercial, and manufacturing data into decision frameworks.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled planning, reporting, or portfolio insight capabilities.
In Return:
By joining the team in charge of coordinating product offerings and planning, you will help develop how Arm defines roadmaps. You will also guide how capacity is allocated, resources prioritised, product and solution investments approved, and strategic ambition turned into delivery!
You will work across IP, Silicon, CSS, SoC, and software, with exposure to senior leaders and enterprise-level portfolio decisions. This is a role for a leader who wants to create impact: set the vision, build the operating model, lead the team, deliver the change, and make it happen.
