Whatcould you be doing as a Finance Technician Apprentice?
- 18 month Level 4 Program studying Professional Accounting
- You will study one day a week (20% of your work time) and the rest of the time in your team
- You will have a line manager, a buddy and an academic tutor as well as program support
What will I be working on?
You will be part of the Operational Finance team. Our team mission is to improve financial strength and inputs for decision-making managers / leaders through effective business partnering.
- Using your curiosity to understand Arm and develop understanding of the business areas you help support
- You will provide support to the Finance Analysts, including helping with month-end activities
- You will help maintain regular reporting and assist in the creation of monthly review packs, ensuring full supporting material is prepared ahead of reviews
- You will maintain records of open Positions and leavers, supporting creating Position records as needed

As an Apprentice, you’ll spend at least 20% of your time on academic work, with the other 80% spent gaining work experience and on-the-job training. We are looking for individuals who:
Our Apprentices come to us from a variety of backgrounds and subject areas. Many are school or college leavers taking their first steps into Finance, but we also welcome people with broader life experience, and career changers who may have gained experience in a different field and are hungry for a new challenge.
Formal qualifications aren’t the most important factor. What we look for in our Apprentices is passion, potential and, above all, curiosity. We want people who can show us why they’re interested in working in Finance, how they envision their future, and specifically why they think Arm is the right place for them.
Entry requirements:
- Valid passport/birth certificate and NI number
- Must have lived in the UK and/or EEA for 3 years prior to apprenticeship start date
- Must be working in England for at least 50% of working time
- Not undertaking another apprenticeship or government funded qualification at the same time
Prior learning requirements
- Grade C or above in at least 5 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics
Or
- Significant work experience
A successful apprentice will demonstrate:
- You are upbeat and agile
- You display a dedicated approach to your work, and you are proud to be detailed, methodical and organised in your nature
- You are a self-starter who enjoys using your personal dedication to support the wider Operational Finance Team
- An understanding of what Arm is and does
- You enjoy solving problems and apply critical thinking to select the best way forward
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Good listening skills
