Job Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Global Space Strategy and Move Manager to join our Workplace Leadership Team based onsite in Cambridge!
You will provide on-site support for the team and help us strategically manage our global office footprint, provide knowledge on leading operational space occupancy, and help build a universal design plan for our offices
Responsibilities:
1 - Strategic Space Management & Forecasting
Build and implement guidelines for space allocation and workspace planning, aligned to Arm’s culture, ways of working and with consideration of hybrid working
Build strong connections, especially with our Engineering customers, to review space and occupancy to identify issues and risks.
Develop dynamic and agile solutions to lead and mitigate these, working collaboratively.
Engage with internal colleagues, to forecast impacts on space needs, through growth, relocation, contraction and ensure appropriate lead time for any new offices, expansions or relocations
Monitor industry trends and identify standard processes and shared learning to ensure we enable maximum value and engagement from our colleagues
Build experience and expertise with our space management tool to own and resolve global issues. Provide data and expert insights on space types, use and allocation
2 – Inclusive Workplace Design
Develop, own and maintain an Arm Inclusive Workplace Design Guide that builds “inclusive universal design” principles to ensure all Arm colleagues enjoy an engaging workplace
Enable an “Arm office design thread” to be delivered globally with cultural awareness and sensitivity to local needs and ensure compliance with local space planning requirements
Work with external partners and internal customers to develop concept and detailed space plans and designs.
Support due diligence for new offices, providing in-house expertise for test fits and concept design development
3 - Operational Move and Changes
Provide subject matter expertise for operational “business as usual” moves and change activities, including the follow:
Space design, occupancy analysis and guidance to Workplace teams globally
Deliver simple CAD design and space management concepts for local MAC activities under review
Assisting with prioritising moves and space reconfigurations according to objectives reviewed and agreed
Directly support physical move lifecycle including understanding internal customer needs, developing and agreeing options and successfully driving the agreed plan
Work with the distributed Workplace team to provide feedback and guidance on workspace-related queries and ensure updates are delivered in a timely fashion.
Share reporting and highlight trends, issues and opportunities to do things differently
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience supporting and/or delivering construction and fit-out projects globally, providing workspace design input, guidance and expertise.
- Technical background in reviewing and updating floor plans and workspace design using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Experience in dealing with space management including forecasting and planning future demand.
- Solutions focused experience with influencing and engaging proactively with customers and the ability to communicate clearly to explain space and design opportunities to non-technical people.
- A background in making and rationalising decisions related to workspace design, allocation, moves with recognition of risks and opportunities of decisions, and a track record of recognising risks.
