Job Overview:

Global Datacentre Specialist will be responsible for operations within our Datacentre estate as well as project involvement.

Working closely with team leads, team managers, project managers, and engineering teams across Global Infrastructure & Platforms (GI&P) infrastructure domains, the Global Datacentre Specialist will be a key contributor in maintaining Datacenter services.

You’ll need to bring a positive team player, enthusiastic, self-starter and flexible attitude in applying different techniques to help drive successful outcomes. You are also expected to bring fresh thinking and ideas, inspired by other successful programs you have part of. You should be an excellent communicator with the passion and resilience to get things done!

Responsibilities:

You will collaborate with technical leaders and contributors as you provide contributions to common goals. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Planning and installation of hardware into our datacenters utilising Nlyte.
  • Co-Coordinating installs working closely with our vendors.
  • Asset management utilising DCIM tooling Nlyte.
  • Ensuring that incidents, requests and/or problems and changes are handled according to agreed ARM procedures & Service Level Agreement.
  • Documentation management & knowledge sharing to improve first time fix rate.
  • Monitoring the Datacentre infrastructure & react pro-actively where possible to resolve alerts.
  • Ensuring that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems, services and processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of datacentre best practice.
  • Basic Knowledge of various types of datacentre hardware.
  • Familiarity with Datacentre products and solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability/willingness to learn new technologies.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

  • Nlyte or simular DCIM tooling.
  • Hardware installation experience.
  • Experience in PDU management.
  • Windows administration skills!
  • Understanding of ITIL framework.
