About the Team

The GPU Software Release team at Arm is responsible for leading the releases of the Mali™ & Immortalis™ Driver Development Kit (DDK). Alongside getting releases of our software out at high quality, we are also responsible for monitoring the stability of our test infrastructure, managing the code quality of our key DDK software branches and doing improvement work to make DDK testing & releasing more efficient and easy for everyone.

We work closely with our infrastructure engineering teams across a broad range of technologies, working to ensure that we release our software on time, with the right features and at the right quality level for our partners.

You will be working with multi-disciplined, multi-national teams across Arm’s worldwide engineering centers. We have a consistent track record of mentoring and coaching expertise in people, so this is a great opportunity to learn something new and exciting in a friendly, collaborative, and diverse environment.

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team with a focus on developing CI pipelines which enhance our ability to keep our code branches stable and bug free whilst providing fast feedback for all. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about building CI on top of modern infrastructure that supports our complex codebase, enabling us to deliver successfully.

We work with modern CI tools (such as gitlab) and build systems (such as bazel) and much more to create a productive, intuitive and easy to use infrastructure solution which is used by hundreds of engineers across the globe.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers and partners across the organization to develop efficient, fast CI which gives us accurate and timely feedback, allowing everyone to make more informed decisions about their day to day engineering, as well as helping us all understand our code stability quickly and easily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain modern, fast CI pipelines in gitlab.
  • Implement reporting that allows all users to have fast feedback on code/branch stability.
  • Integrate CI pipelines with APIs, databases, and our wider infrastructure services.
  • Work closely with teams across engineering and infrastructure to ensure seamless service integration.
  • Debug and optimise performance across the stack to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Follow standard methodologies for code quality, testing, and documentation.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
  • Experience of YAML or similar markup
  • Strong programming skills

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with using gitlab for either development work or CI.
  • Understanding of code development in a large organisation, including code branching/forking, patchsets, reviews, merging etc.
  • Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and backend data handling.
  • Basic data analysis skills (we use Tableau so any experience with this would be a plus).
  • Any knowledge of GPUs themselves is helpful but not required.

In return :

In return, there’s an opportunity to influence the direction of how GPU products are developed, applying engineering skills to push the culture of software engineering at Arm forward. These contributions will enable technologies that influence millions of devices for years to come!

This role offers the chance to bring ideas to a wider group of leading experts, while developing technical leadership and influencing skills. It’s a great pathway for growing into an established and recognised leader within the team. The GPU product line provides a rich roadmap across different domains, allowing you to experience the demands of diverse use cases.
