Job overview:
Applications Engineering is a dynamic and versatile role that blends deep software expertise with strong interpersonal skills to support our partners in overcoming their technical challenges. In this role, you’ll leverage your software expertise to support partners developing high-performance Edge and low-power IoT solutions. By working closely with customers, you will gain a deep understanding of their objectives, analyze their software requirements, and deliver customized solutions that drive their success. As your knowledge expands, you'll provide training sessions for partners' software engineering teams, conduct insightful software architecture reviews, offer guidance on software optimization strategies, and mentor fellow team members—fostering best practices and enhancing technical excellence within the team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop reference applications for innovative IoT solutions.
- Provide prompt technical support to customers.
- Create and deliver live and recorded partner training sessions.
- Collaborate with Arm teams to influence software feature development.
- Test and provide feedback on software releases.
- Create and modify web-based knowledge base articles and application notes.
Required skills and experience:
- Expert C/C++ programming skills with strong debugging capabilities.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl/Python).
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams.
"Nice to have” skills and experience:
- Experience with common firmware packages for Arm, such as SCP Firmware, Trusted Firmware (TF-A or TF-M), or Runtime Security Engine (RSE).
- Familiarity with Arm Architecture and software ecosystems.
- Experience with open-source projects (Linux Kernel, TF-A, UEFI EDK II).
- Knowledge of embedded Linux build systems (Yocto, Buildroot).
