Job Overview:
Applications Engineering is a dynamic and wide-ranging role that combines deep technical expertise with exceptional interpersonal skills to guide our partners through their technical challenges. In this role, you will focus on Arm IP and Subsystem products designed for both high-performance and low-power IoT markets, ensuring our partners achieve their goals.
By working closely with customers, you will gain a deep understanding of their objectives, analyze their technical needs, and provide tailored solutions that drive their success. As your expertise grows, you’ll deliver trainings for partners engineering teams, offer insightful reviews and guidance on system designs, and mentor fellow team members—helping to cultivate best practices and technical excellence within the group.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You’ll work with engineering teams as the customer’s advocate, influencing product improvements and driving adoption of innovative technology. Alongside this, you will contribute by raising product defects, reviewing documentation, and creating valuable resources such as application notes, example source code, and knowledge base articles to support the global community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide fast and accurate technical answers to customer questions
- Build and deliver customer training classes, both remotely and (possibly) in-person
- Work with Arm IP design and product management teams to improve partners experience and influence IP feature development
- Test IP and provide feedback to design teams prior to release to customers
- Build reference applications to support innovative, high-performance IoT designs
- Create and modify web-based knowledge base articles and application notes
- Develop tools and techniques to aid Application Engineers find solutions more efficiently
Required Skills and Experience:
- BSc, MSc or PhD degree qualification in Electronics/Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Good understanding of HDLs such as Verilog, System-Verilog or VHDL
- Knowledge of CPU architecture and SoC design principles
- Knowledge of FPGA/ASIC design processes
- Very good ability to recreate and debug RTL issues
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl/Python)
- Good interpersonal skills with an analytical approach and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- Good motivation, ability to work unsupervised and deliver on whole projects
- Knowledge of one or more AMBA bus protocols
- Experience with C/C++ in embedded environment
- Understanding of Arm Cortex-M architecture
- Flexibility about daily tasks and assignments
