Arm is seeking a skilled, experienced, and highly motivated Embedded Test Lead, located in Budapest, to join our Software Engineering group. As a member of the System Solutions team, you will have the opportunity to enable the evolution of High Performance IoT Compute Subsystems. You will be working with a distributed team spread across Arm’s worldwide engineering centers. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring firmware developed by our teams is product ready.
Responsibilities
As an Embedded Test Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust testing strategy and quality assurance practices, collaborating closely with developers, technology managers, and other partners to ensure high-quality product delivery. Key responsibilities include driving test automation, fostering continuous improvement in software quality, and leading a team to meet quality goals with comprehensive test coverage. In addition, you will build automated test solutions for firmware validation on IoT platforms, define test architecture and scenarios, and ensure compliance with both internal and customer requirements across various test categories. You will also guide tool selection for testing and contribute to CI design and setup.
You will provide technical leadership and line management for a distributed Test & QA team.

Education & Qualifications
Good university degree (or equivalent experience), ideally in a numerate subject.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong expertise in creating test strategies, automated testing, and implementing CI/CD frameworks for embedded systems.
- Proficient in using various testing and automation tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Extensive experience in QA and test automation for high-quality software, with a focus on system validation for IoT firmware.
- Experience in tracking and reporting on key testing metrics, providing insight into test coverage, quality trends, and potential risks to management and partners.
- Engineering management experience and skills for people management, including recruiting, managing talent, team building, and developing team members.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English, and the ability to write coherent documentation, influence, and build consensus.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience
- Experience with Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) practices.
- Knowledge of low-level software test techniques.
- Knowledgeable in computer architecture and microarchitecture concepts.
- Familiarity with Arm SystemReady IR Compliance Program.
- Familiarity with open source projects such as Linux Kernel, TF-A, TF-M, UEFI EDK II, U-Boot, Xen / pKVM.
