Job Overview:
The Arm Education and Academic Engagements team works with a wide range of both industrial and academic partners. We are now seeking a Senior Regional Manager for India with experience in cloud application software development and academic engagements, with the aim of bridging the gap between industry and academia in skills development, education, research and enterprise. We have a particular interest in making it easier, through software (and hardware) abstractions, for academia to harness and develop effective solutions on top of foundational energy-efficient Arm technologies. You will join a diverse team with a strong user-centric ethos. We have specialists in publishing and program management working with academia, part of a group dedicated to engagement with developers more broadly. First and foremost, this role is about delivering influence at scale, working with the academic community, taking advantage of network effects whenever possible.
Responsibilities:
- Working with technical colleagues, program managers, ecosystem and particularly academic partners to identify academic user needs in India, in education and research, and mediate effectively with various offers from Arm and its ecosystem partners
- Develop a roadmap of technical products and services to support academic user needs in India, whenever there are gaps
- Working collaboratively with academia in India, develop scalable ways to lower the barrier for software developers on Arm and to optimise and port their workloads seamlessly on efficient Arm-based hardware
- Develop and support education and academic communities of practice in India, and actively facilitate their networking with equivalent regional and global communities of practice
- Ensure that India-based initiatives contribute to the wider global program, lowering the barrier to entry for all
Required skills and experience
- A very good technical understanding of cloud based application software development related to Arm and our ecosystem
- Proven experience in building and nurturing communities of practice in academia and/or industry
- Strong abstract reasoning skills with an ability to focus on key concepts at all levels of detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to convey technical material to a non-technical audience at different levels of seniority
- Ability to work independently in addition to part of a distributed team
"Nice to have" skills and experience
- A good understanding of embedded systems and SoC development
- A strong understanding and experience in software-hardware co-design and optimising software workloads for hardware, particularly Arm-based hardware
