This role is for a motivated Project Manager who will be based in ARM’s Bangalore office, within the Solutions Group and will be expected to work with Engineering Management to ensure we achieve on-time delivery of our ‘implementation projects’ within the bounds of agreed performance, cost & quality. Project managers are responsible for planning and supervising semiconductor verification projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project managers plan and prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep partners informed the entire way. This is all done within the confines of an ARM's goals and vision.
Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Be responsible for all aspects of projects- assign responsibilities, and supervise and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project. The successful candidate will work directly with clients to ensure results fall within the applicable scope and budget. Project Manager will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and will hire new talent as needed to fulfil client needs. Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, tracking/monitoring, resource allocation, issue/risk management, driving the teams to deliver against committed milestones, handle the expectations of project partners, dependency management, communication to internal customers and where needed, external partners.
Please Note: This role requires a minimal level of travel to work across ARM sites and with ARM Partners.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A degree in engineering or management
- Relevant experience in handling semiconductor (VLSI) projects & good understanding of HW development cycle
- Self-motivated with a flair for lateral thinking and problem solving
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, Professional approach to work and willingness to accept new challenges
- Excellent experience in independently handling project using various project management process
- Ability to showcase good leadership & guide the team to deliver & open to feedback
- Semiconductor experience or of a similarly technical background
- Experience in Project / Program Management of VLSI projects using leading methodologies and processes of HW life cycle
- Must have worked on post silicon project scoping, partner and customer engagements, and high-volume silicon manufacturing.
- Must have good understanding on requirements for silicon qualification and reliability.
- Must understand all aspects of silicon validation including functional, electrical and analog validation
- Experience developing, introducing, and refining new processes around team and business requirements.
- Proven track record to lead, monitor and motivate distributed teams.
- Proven ability in building plans from a high level to a detailed schedule
- Experience in collaborating closely with customers, partners, and remote development teams
- Clear understanding of, and ability to apply the concepts of risk management
- Ability to communicate/understand highly skilled teams, communicate hardware concepts with confidence.
- Resolve how best to deal with uncertainty and ability to generate effective metrics for tracking
- Actively review inter-project dependencies and risks, assist in the resolution of differences, to achieve greater success.
- Influence decisions and adapt plans to changes in the project scope, schedule, and cost
- Drive efficiency improvement through adoption of right tools and methodologies
- Participate in group level process improvement activities across geographies
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- Familiar with techniques for continuous team performance improvement, Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, configuration methods, versioning, and documentation tools
- Formal project management qualification (e.g., PMP)
- Understanding of a range of hardware and software development lifecycle methods (e.g., waterfall, iterative, agile)
- First class communications skills, both written and verbal & Self-motivated, looking to accept new challenges
