Job Overview:
As the Infrastructure Optimization Manager, you’ll lead a team of skilled engineers to optimize cloud, hardware, software, and managed services. Your role includes ensuring Arm’s infrastructure is high-performing and cost-effective, covering cloud, on-premises, SaaS, and PaaS services to support engineering functions.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, has strong leadership skills, and has a consistent track record of working in challenging situations while maintaining a proactive, can-do approach to developing a technically sophisticated team. You can demonstrate ownership of complex results to a focused timeline without slippage while motivating and empowering your team to succeed!
Responsibilities:
- Actively leading, mentoring, and running a skilled engineering team across various technical domains.
- Collaborate with partners across IT, infrastructure, and operations teams to identify improvements, lead technical initiatives, and support infrastructure services that focus on the end-user experience.
- Maintain focus and ownership with a positive approach to technical work you're doing across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Responsible for ensuring proactive reporting on key strategic metrics in a business focused approach.
- Accountable for leading all aspects of and reporting appropriate important metrics for infrastructure optimisation globally.
- Encourage innovation and experimentation to improve capabilities and keep the team at the forefront of technology.
- Proactively handling a number of key contracts and suppliers within Infrastructure to ensure delivery of value for Arm.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A highly motivated, dedicated and credible leader with good interpersonal skills and an inclusive approach.
- Expericence of leading global technical teams across time zones and regions.
- In depth multi cloud financial knowledge, cost optimisation and demonstrable experience in stakeholder management driving resource optimisation and cost reduction across the cloud environment
- Technical proficiency in cost management across clouds, demonstrating the cost reduction mechanisms unique to each cloud offering.
- Solid understanding of cloud FinOps technical and business reporting in a highly technical domain mainly on AWS and knowledge on Azure & GCP.
- Building Cloud FinOps dashboards and Expericence in FinOps tools like Apptio, CID
- Knowledge of cloud native tools for both cost and performance optimizations
- Good understanding of risk within a technical infrastructure delivery team.
- A passion for automation first in everything you do ensuring optimisation is at the hear of everything we do.
- Proven track record in leading customer focused technical services delivered across, Private and Public Cloud, On Premise, Managed Service and SaaS.
“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:
- An excellent grounding in industry-standard service management methodology.
- Experience in manging IT infra budget leading global teams.
